Road to Prediction

The British invasion from ?“England?’s?” + The ?“Aging Postman?” divided by the fanning flames. These bridges crossed the British Channel. Once they cross they can no longer see color ?“it is between a black and white?”. Their first mission is to provide wood for their homes only to share this with the kingdom. Harold works behind the scenes to link the parties above. With out Harold the scheme fails!!!!!!!! Once their flag is planted in the new home land the peasant gathering begins. They must ALL work to build the castle for Harold and the British. We all know the color of the stones in this new land some where between a white and a black. To keep the peasants working they employee this little minded guy by the name of Sounder Lyon. Why would they all do this? The Royal family presides don?’t they? Some connected by blood some connected by God. Is the Royal family in charge or are they controlled by Finn? Is Finn Religious or does is it just appear that way because of where he lives?

Finn has magic powers to find himself everywhere at the same time. To defend the Kingdom they must build an Army. Their uniforms are what color? The officers must have confessions to Finn every week in the castle. How do we recruit these officers for the Army? We don?’t have a ?“POT OF GOLD?”, or do we? ?“Oh what do I see a Rainbow?”, shouts Finn? Now count the numbers of colors in that rainbow. There is no white nor is there a black. If you follow the rainbow to yonder hill you surely will find that pot of gold and maybe one with an ear ring. Maybe the rainbow will be the officers in our army? They will earn their money from the pot of gold they found. But where did this pot of gold come from or is this only part of the wealth of the kingdom?

The Kingdom's wealth comes from across the Channel. The peasants must cross that channel daily to bring back more gold for Finn. Finn then blesses the gold then allows others to share the peasant offerings. Harold stands at the dock and charges a toll to get into the Kingdom of no colors. Harold has been raising the toll because of the wear and tear on the barge. Sounder drives the barge and reports to Harold that the barge is riding low in the water. Harold proclaims we must raise the toll to build another barge. Sounder says, ?“but this is such a nice barge?”. After we build the new barge how do we get more peasants to bring over their wealth? Harold answers, ?“tell them their lives will be filled with gold and silver that they can hang around their children?’s neck and strut and brag and win?”. ?“GO!?” Harold orders. Sounder is off again to find more peasants to build another barge to provide the gold for Finn.

Conclusion maybe?

One day Finn walks up to the yonder hill to check on his POT OF GOLD. Before reaching the top of the hill Finn notices the rainbow now only has 6 colors in it. Alarmed Finn goes to the pot of gold to find the pot was only half full. ?“How will I pay the Rainbow Army??” Finn wonders. He proceeds down the hill to Harold to tell that the pot was not as full as before. He demands Harold bring in more peasants. Harold tells Finn, ?“The barge is full and we must build another barge and we will need more peasants for that project?”. ?“Then bring in even more peasants?”, Finn cried. Finn volunteers to build another dock with his name on it so the peasants will have something to look forward to when they land in the Kingdom of no Colors.

Sounder returns to England to recruit more peasants. On his travels he comes across this band of men in green tights. He asked the leader, ?“what s your name?”? The leader replies, ?“Robert Hooding?”. Sounder has problems trying to find out how many are in Robert?’s band of merry men and women.?” Their green outfits blend well into the dense green forest. Sounder asks Robert, ?“What is your mission?”. Robert replies, ?“I take from the rich and give to the poor?”. Sounder says, ?“I basically do the opposite of that?”. Now the two square off as mortal enemies.

Sounder returns to the Kingdom to tell Finn of his encounter with Robert. Finn orders Sounder to return and find Robert and his band. ?“Destroy them by any means you can, and certainly don?’t let him communicate with the peasants,?” Finn orders. Don?’t let the peasants know where their gold is going, you must keep this a secret or they won?’t get on the barge. Sounder does manage to get a barge load of peasants and head for the Kingdom. During their crossing the Rainbow appears over the horizon and sounder tells them, ?“That this is the color of our Kingdom?”. Once the peasants step away from the toll booth they no longer can see the rainbow. Many want to get back on the barge and return to England.

As you can see this story may not have a happy ending. Will Sounder be able to fill the second barge with even more peasants? Will Harold raise his tolls high enough to pay for the second barge or will he borrow the money from Robert?’s band? Will the level of gold in the pot continue to decline? What happens if one of the barges sink? What happens if three more colors in the rainbow disappear? Will Finn give up and move to Waterloo? Will Maid Marian finally come to the Kingdom or will she remain in the forest? Will Sounder succeed?

This story is true only the names have been changed to protect the guilty. This all happened in 2003.

Robert & Merry Men in Tights

Marlin,

Very enlightening!

Further enlighten me with answers to a few simple questions. Why does Robert (may I call him Bob for short) and his merry men in green tights hide in the deep forest? What are they afraid of? Certainly, they cannot be afraid of Sounder Lyon (isn't he a big-mouthed moron?). And, Harold sounds like he isn't much of a leader. Why do Bob and his merry men in green tights hide?

And, don't the so-called peasants laugh at Bob and his merry men in green tights in the year 2003? If they want to 'communicate' with the so-called peasants, should they not have more appropriate attire? And, are the so-called peasants really poor or are they affluent professionals only claiming to be poor?

I guess the moral of your fairy tale is that if Bob wants the respect of common folk, he and his merry men should stop hiding in the forest and shed their tights.
Your thoughts not mine

Mr. Uher

My short story was fictional with fictional characters. Anytime one writes a fictional story it is open to interpretation by the readers. Many times these interpretations reveal more about the reader than the writer. It is interesting that you focused in on the one minor character rather than the main ones. It is also interesting that you attached personal labels to these characters.

There are many parallels within this story that you over looked. You seem to have a preset position on his Web site that only you can insult people and if others do you rise up on your white horse to scold the offender. To be consistence in your statements lends to your credibility Mr. Uher. I don?’t find your statements consistent.

Thank you for your interest in my ramblings.
