The growth of Pickerington has become a major financial concern to the residents of this community. Pickerington is one of the more sought after places to live in Central Ohio ranking with Dublin, Powell, Worthington and New Albany. Even though the community leaders continue to give developers huge incentives to annex and build, it is my opinion, as a candidate for Fairfield County commissioner, developers should pay and invest in the community for the privilege to build in Pickerington.
Just recently, the county commissioners granted one annexation reluctantly and denied another because of Pickerington's history of not providing adequate water and sewage services.
As a commissioner it would be important to me to insist that the proposed developer invest 5% of his proposed development to the schools and another 5% for police and fire protection and city services. This only seems right to me.
The end result is that everyone wins. It doesn't cost the developer any money that is not recoverable, the current citizens are not asked to finish the new development, the schools win and the new homeowners move into upscale homes. I am sure that my opponent this fall does not share my concern in protecting the people.
Please vote for Michael Noll for Fairfield County Commissioner this November 5. If you wish to help me, please tell you friends and if wish to have one of my signs prior to the election, E-mail me, lambacres@buckeyeinternet.com.
Thank you.
