I am disturbed that there are young people that live in our community that feel it is necessary to burn the American Flag hanging on someone?’s front porch. It is ironic that these same young people live in the same neighborhood that also claim to be the strong supporters of the PLSD school levy?’s. Some have been heard to say they desired to have their children attend the new high school because of the strong support from Summerfield. They also point to the high percentage of voters from Summerfield that supports our school. There was even fear expressed making the boundary's decision wrong would lose support for the board from Summerfield.
Hopefully this is only one or two kids doing the vandalism and not a general attitude of the neighborhood with our troops in harm?’s way protecting the very freedom?’s the flag represents. Their apparently is one or more families in Summerfield that should redirect their attentions to their family. Their freedoms have been paid for by the blood of many men not much older than these thugs.
Maybe Mayor Hughes is right about the high powered rifle and let them lay all night.
