Dialing for dollars

Posted in: PATA
I received a phone call from a lady that lives in the City last night. She reports that her neighbor was called by the phone survey people and one of the questions asked was, ?“DO YOU THINK THE PICKERINGTON CITY COUNCIL IS DOING A GOOD JOB?”?

Another question was asked but first stating that the Pickerington Mayor, City Manager and a majority of the council feel that the two lots per acre ordinance that is on this November?’s ballot (issue 17) will hurt development in Pickerington. ''Knowing that would you still vote for this issue''?

Maybe those that haven't been called yet could get their oportunity to answer some of these tough questions here on this web site. As we hear more about the questions being asked please post them so everyone can have a crack at them. No stuffing the ballot box.

Even 2 Per Acre Is Too Much!

Dear Sir,

I can't really imagine what the city council in Pickerington is thinking about. I guess that two new houses per acre is decent and better than what your city council wants but in my opinion, Pickerington is a first rate community and should be attracting folks who want the best. Anyone who wants a 300 or 400,000 dollar home does not want it cramped into a very tiny lot next to a $75,000 house of dubious quality. I quarntee you, the developers understand that if they build four $100,000 houses on four lots per acre, they make a bunch more money than if they build one $400,000. How does the city management expect to pay for all of the services to maintain all of these new homes in the ever increasing desire to expand the community? You are the one expected to pay for the additional cost to have all of these new homes! I urge everyone to vote for the 2 per acre bill just because it is better than the alternative. As for me, if I am elected as the next Fairfield County Commissioner this November 5, I would not be interested in approving any annexation for overly dense housing. Please remember me this coming election and let me work for you.
