1. Should Village?’s (City?’s) dissolve their governments and merge to be governed by unincorporated Townships?
2. Should Communities set a two-year moratorium in order to stop development while encouraging the city to submit to a development plan?

.... Howard Fleeter, an independent tax and school-funding analyst, said the tax-abatement system is unfair to schools because they cannot block counties or municipalities from reducing taxes. Some superintendents have been able to strike agreements with businesses for a charitable contribution in exchange for the tax breaks.
A study released Tuesday by Fleeter and his partners showed that the property-tax burden for schools has shifted in the past 10 years from businesses to homeowners. He said that tax abatements might contribute to the shift. ... see the link in ''Our Pages''
(Updated 4/14/02) ?– In addition to the suggested Boundaries Committee maps and listing of subdivisions per each plan, a portion of the data and bar graphs listing future enrollment shows the problem. The four schools can?’t handle what is coming! Longer established area residents already knew this. They?’ve been there before.
Ask yourself why this public information is not available through our area newspapers? Better yet, ASK THEM.
