More UScan lanes!
The new Kroger is not a different front for a corporate war; it is simply further PROOF of the population explosion within our community. They only build it if ?“they will come?”.
Obviously, the Kroger Company feels that an additional store will benefit the company bottom line. It is not the fault of the Kroger Company that an ever increasing and large populace exists within our community. That fault lies elsewhere.
How many vacated storefronts are on our horizon?
Building house upon house leads to trailer upon trailer, pharmacy upon pharmacy, grocer upon grocer, and ultimately?…?
Please understand that I am not against pharmacies, grocers, or other retailers as they are a vital part of a community.
It is apparent that the ?“Development Plan?” in our community severely lacks thought or is used as a competition between governing authorities.
The current plan is getting us nowhere fast!

Krogers Galore
I recently heard that Kroger's goal is to have a Kroger store every 3 miles. It makes me shudder to think this is becoming a reality, especially as I must leave Pickerington to shop the competition (not including Big Bear - I don't shop there at all). This means that, though I would prefer to spend my dollars in Pickerington, I don't, because I hate ''the card'' and the price increases Kroger has instituted since ''the card'' came into being. I also dislike the lack of variety in fresh meats, the addition of general merchandise cluttering up the aisles, and some the cranky adults who work there, as well as some of the tee-heeing teens who have trouble interrupting their personal conversations to do their jobs.
Oops, sorry, I am venting.

What does Giant Eagle need ??
Do you think it's possible that the City Manager could find out how many acres it would take to bring Giant Eagle to Pickerington & carve that out of the hundreds of acres they are devoting to new housing ??
Come on Joyce !! Pickerington should be an easy sell what are you waiting for ?? Is it because Giant Eagle isn't a subsidiary of a residential developer ?? Do you need a contact name ??
If Kroger's is that interested in Pickerington - it shouldn't take a Rocket Scientist to attract this new commercial development !!!
