DEMAND YOUR RIGHTS BACK!!!!
On November 5th 2002 the Pickerington Voters made an overwhelming demand that Pickerington stop the above actions. Two days later the Development Director and Our City Manager were telling people that we as voters are wrong. Susan Crotty was telling people at the U.S 33 alliance meeting that the city was going to ignore issues 17 & 18. Voters approved these two issues by over 70% each.
Clearly neither the Pickerington nor the employees of the City accept the will of the voters. The elected leaders stand by silently and their silence approves the actions of these employees. They have abused our taxes dollars for self promotion and the preservation of their own tenure in office. Our city charter doesn?’t make any test for them must do to qualify for recall. Since space is limited on this web page I can only tell you about the highlights. With the small portion of their deeds that I have written about they must be recall immediately.
Thank you all! NOW GO DEMAND YOU RIGHTS BACK!

Did you forget?
Mr. Hackworth
I think you may have forgotten a few issues over the last three years that were also note worthy.
Did you forget about the Police levy and the new Police station? It appears that our City and William Wright were instrumental in accepting ?“donated lands?” (OH!! what a deal) for a brand new police station. The person donating the property had recently purchased the land at $5,000 per acre. Now he has a total of $385,000 in swamp land. The owner makes his grand donation of 15 acres to the city to build their new police station. When the brilliant Engineering firm charges us $25,000 to draw up plans we find this Engineer forgot to check the land that this new station would sit on. The land wouldn?’t support a two story building. They then charged us (taxpayers) to redraw the plans for a one story building.
This donated land required the City Tax payers to run sewer and water lines out to the property and provide a road right up the middle of the parcel so the owners would access to the large apartment complex that he was building right behind the station. The road was said to cost $150,000. Who knows what these water and sewer lines cost the tax payers.
Knowing what the City had been took last spring Joyce Bushman offered the remaining 11 acres to PLSD to build a school on. One of the only smart things Yocum ever did was to turn down the offer because their school engineer said the property couldn?’t be built on. However that didn?’t stop the police station form being built.
I think you left out the $149,600 that our City Council donated to support a Political Action Committee to campaign against Senate Bill 5. Not only that they used our City Finance Director to act as Treasurer. Lou Postage said, ?“You have to invest a little money to make money.?” He wasn?’t investing his money he was investing the taxpayers money. This case is still in litigation.

It is illegal PERIOD
There are things that are just plan illegal. If two people try to influence an election they are considered a PAC. This can be either an issue on the ballot or a candidate. It is very serious when public funds are used.
Clearly the City Manager used city employees (Lance Shultz) to compile a 20 page document to campaign against the recent three issues on the November Ballot. She further attended a luncheon at the Pickerington area Chamber of Commerce and continued her campaign urging people to vote NO on these issues. In addition to that they posted this information along with a letter from the Mayor urging the City Voters to vote NO on the three issues. Both of these documents were political statements that could have influenced this election. They were both posted on the official City of Pickerington WEB site the day before the election. There are multiple copies of that posting floating around the city voters. To now apologize is not acceptable. Sounds like they are getting advice from a former President.
This City Government has no moral compass and they can?’t tell the difference between ethics and breaking the law. Even though they have attorneys at City Hall every day.

Another Illegailty?
The Council is in contempt of the court of Fairfield County for an annexation. Why are they not being prosecuted? I don't give a hoot whether or not they were told to say they didn't know about the court order. Mapes knew. At least he is in contempt.
If this were you or I, our butts would be sitting in Dave Phalen's holding cell. Is this further evidence that our City government is above the law?
