I do have caller ID and voice mail on my phone and there have been no recordings of any messages from the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce. I also want to inform you that both Mrs. Ricketts and I were not working that day and we were both available to speak at your luncheon.
I know the City of Pickerington regularly donates $10,000 to the operation of the Pickerington Chamber of Commerce. I know the city has paved your parking lot at taxpayer?’s expense. If you are protecting the City Government and Joyce Bushman with your biased luncheons, then there appears to be a real credibility problem within this chamber. Whether you realize it or not a number of your members were outraged by your behavior and your total disregard of any sense of political fairness on the part of the Chamber.
I assume this Chamber represents the Businesses in the Pickerington area. Is it in the best interests of these businesses to have the chamber holding biased political luncheons that may very well be in total opposition to the local resident?’s wishes? Most businesses in Pickerington are small and must get their customer base from the local population. You certainly can connect the dots from here.
I will make this letter public and send to everyone I know in Pickerington. I only hope we can find a Chamber of Commerce in the future that is ethical, fair and honest in its dealings with the local citizens. Currently that does not exist.
Sincerely,
Ted Hackworth
