Political Payback

Posted in: PATA
After watching the banter on this web I feel it?’s time for the wait and see attitude that some of the posters continue to take while the artist of the political con continue to thwart citizen?’s efforts to reform a corrupt political body to be examined.

A local citizen presented a completely thought out reasoned approach to recall. Now you?’ve got a soon to be anointed to office Commissioner defending the dribble of they haven?’t done anything ?“illegal?” so these officials are untouchable. This same soon to be Commissioner had his election signs in front of Gary DeMastry?’s house for his run for office. So need we postulate any further what side of corruption this political official speaks from?

Now to those he is attempting to defend let?’s see we?’ve got Councilmen Fox and Maxey stating they haven?’t done anything illegal. These same gentlemen serve on a County Executive Republican Party, which endorsed this Commissioner?’s candidacy, propelling him into office.

To Mr. Kiger I suggest that you read the Pickerington Charter obviously Mr. Schuster has. In a fashion that your party prides itself upon local citizens stepping forward for local government concerns he has expressed himself quite well. On the other hand you have attempted to spread your words in an inappropriate manner from a countywide perspective over a local issue.

For those wait and see?’ers, back scratching at it?’s best doesn?’t need to be any more blatant than what is in front of you today and won?’t improve with any additional time in office.

Mike Kiger ran on the platform that he would have an open door policy to the voters and listen to those voters. Yet he now tells us that we are cowards to even think about a recall. We should remind Mr. Kiger that the recall standard for elected county comissioners in Ohio is only 15% of the registered voters.

Apparently Mr. Kiger is not even in office and he has reneged on his campaign promise of listening to the people. After all who is calling for this recall? Is the people or his coruppt campaign supporters? Granted Mike Kiger gained support from the DeMastry faction of the Republican Party and Brian Fox was appointed the Republican Chairmen by strong backing of the DeMastry faction within the Fairfield County Republican Party.

The Fairfield County Republicans were duped once more by the ''Nice Young Man From Pickerington.'' That nice young man that is a pillar of our local political lanscape was a supporter of Gary DeMastry AFTER he was indicted in 1999.

In the case of Kiger and Fox, the question we all must face is being closely associated with a known FELON a recallable offense? Is the leadership of the Fairfield County Republican Party guilty by association? It now appears they are!
