Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

Here's how it will work...

Posted in: PATA
Dear Community...

A couple of pieces of information and unsolicited advice. I have been reading lately about the potential recall, and how perhaps we should all wait and see what happens with the appointments to council before moving forward. Why would anyone who has lived here and watch this all unfold wait?

First of all, Lou gets appointed Mayor. He is a big, big supporter of Joyce Bushman. As Mayor, it would be his job to fire her. He will not do that. He thinks the members of PATA and those in the community who don't like what is going on (even though it is the majority of us) are a ''bunch of screwballs.'' Of course, Doug Parker, Bill Wright and Maxey all tend to agree with Lou's characteriziation.

As for Mike Kiger, he received a great deal of support throughout the election from Leo DeMastry, Randy Hughes, Maxey, Lee Gray, Fox and the other ''usual suspects.'' He is their sole political ally at the county. And because he now owes them for their endorsements and private support as well, he will most likely be paying that debt back, as witness, his letter to the editor.

If anyone lets this recall effort fall by the wayside, they will be very sorry. I think everyone would also be wise to let go of the Greg/Mike Kiger discussion and focus on what is really ahead.

Instead of everyone calling Joyce names, it woul be a good idea to have the people who know about some her dirty dealings come before Council and ask them to get her to resign, citing what they know about her unethical behavior and
mismanagement of the City and taxpayer dollars as the reason.

Now is not the time to ''wait and see.'' We'll all get burned. And besides, do you see any of them cutting anyone who voices a genuine concern, or expresses an original thought that does not serve the developers first, a break? If so, please post it, I would like to hear it!
Answer

The weak, timid, and easily duped wait.

The strong, confident, and sincere citizens that want to live in a democracy more forward cause the have seen enough of this corruption. Those that want their children, grandchildren, neighbors and friends to understand that citizenship means (more than test subject area in the Proficiency Tests the children take) demonstrate their convictions by moving forward.

The media (rather than ask questions of area residents) perform their 5th estate responsibilities in helping area residents understand the corruption and write stories that help educate rather than print propagandist press releases that hide the truth.

Question back to you (and others) what are you waiting for?

Attend meetings, write to the newspaper editors, meet with your neighbors, friends, co-workers from here and get the ball rolling. If I?’m not mistaken somewhere further down this discussion page their is even an email of like minded people that want to clean up this corruption.

Roll up your sleeves cause this town is too valuable to be sold out to developer interests and our future is too important for you to sit on you behinds and do less.

Fox your time is about up!

The idea of waiting until they make a decision is to give the current council members a chance to pick a new council member that reflects the desires of the Pickerington Voters. However patience will only last until Santa comes down the Chimney. If Fox, Parker and Maxey have not made a responsible decision by then we must take matters into our own hands. We will re-think our priorities and follow through.

Those that wanted to run and have been sitting on their hands hoping Fox, Parker, and Maxey will have the B-LLs to even make a decision let alone a responsible one will only wait for a short period. A real Sh-t storm is about to happen to Fox and Friends by Christmas. I am not weather man but I can smell it in the air. The fact that many of us are Republicans and we don't want to air our dirty laundry in full view of the public will only hold up for just a very short time.

So BRIAN FOX your day is coming. Either pick a acceptable replacement for the Jeff Monebrake seat or face the RECALL. Those of us that are Republicans can wait no longer to allow you to convert the county party into a door mat for the special interest groups of this state. We are not waiting for the second seat from the Mayor resigning 12/31.

Don't take it as a threat but take it as reality.

We have been waiting 8 years

Excatly what should we expect while we wait? More of the same. Look to the past to judge the future.

The time has come for Joyce Bushman to find other means of support. Except for Mr. Shaver, the rest of City Council have had their day in the Pickerington Sun.
