I was occupied with other election issues last night, and unable to attend the council meeting. Did they rescind the platting of The Reserve at Pickerington Ponds and pass via emergency, or was their sufficient public pressure to stop them.

Thanks
The issue is still tabled

Gary,

They left the ordinance 2002-126 on the table. They didn't have Monebrake there so they would have had a problem with their numbers.

The crowd was overflowing. Standing room only. There were a number of High School students there seeing their government in action. We still must show up on November 19th That may be the last time the Council will have a chance to do their thing and they need to do it in front of the public. I hope the public shows up.

Thanks

Thanks...I have been at the last two meetings, and will attend all future meetings. I am encouraging others to do the same. It's been an enlightening, but occassionally frustrating experience that now seems finally headed in the right direction.

Again, thanks for the info.
Pressure needs to build

While the Ordinance 2002-126 (to rescind The Reserve) is still tabled - the City Council is going to have to face some very tough political decisions.

There is a time period (I'm not sure the exact # of days, someone jump in) but think there is time while the vote is being certified that the Issues are not yet law. I am sure the developers would like to see the 5 referenda rescinded during this time frame & passed by Emergency, Homewood has already requested that this happen.

The question is will there be a cost associated with doing that for the Councilmen? A large number of voters overwhelmingly supported the Initiatives & Charter Amendments sponsored by Ted Hackworth & Rita Ricketts - how will those same people feel about their democratic rights being dictated by developers ??

There is now talk of a possible land donation to the schools by The Homewood Corporation. Hopefully this will not be the 21 acres that should not be built on. I believe they realize that the status quo is not going to work in this instance.
