No confidence vote

Posted in: PATA
In other countries we often hear of such and such surviving a no-confidence vote. Last night Pickerington city council did not survive their vote of no-confidence. The numbers tell the tale of how out of touch our city government is with those they 'represent'.

I didn't necessarily agree with all of these issues and I did agree with some of what the Mayor had to say in his letter to the editor. I was however a staunch supporter of these issues because I saw it as the only short-term option available to the citizens of this community to stop the reckless behavior of many of our elected officials.

The big question before us now is will we be able to maintain the current momentum until the 2003 elections and make real changes?

School Help

Is this also time to start pressuring the school board?…the PTO leadership?

They need to rationalize the failure of the levy, and then they need to formulate strategy to facilitate it's eventual passage....there?’s apparently about to be a new leader there too.

They have a couple of options. They can ignore the obvious message that voters sent, and just fall back on ''threatening'' the parents with split sessions, no activities, etc. The wide margins by which the levy failed, and the initiatives passed, should cause them to question whether this is the right approach to getting their levy passed.

Or, they could face up to the fact that they will have difficulty with any levy until there is a consensus that Pickerington Council has a plan to slow growth. To facilitate that, they must be willing to step up and say that Council's acquiescence to the developers is hurting the schools. Once that happens, Council's days are numbered, and their activities will get ''mainstream'' scrutiny.

I will be e-mailing the PLSD board today to point out these facts, and I'll be sharing comments from the ''Violet Voice'' regarding the townships cooperation with Canal Winchester city government and with their school system. They must demand the same from the Pickerington Council and the township trustees.

By the way, I can't personally stand to give any more of my tax money to the Pickerington City Council, so I'm soon moving from Cherry Hill to Violet Twp...can someone tell me where that high density housing is in Violet Twp that the Pickerington City Council keeps referencing as justification for their actions?...I looked all over, and all I could find is half acre lots, and large houses?…
Campaign Lit gone from City Site

I just noticed the city has removed their campaign messages from the city WEB site not only the mayor but Joyce Bushman's message.

The only problem is that I believe there are a number of people that copied and saved that parisan campaign message on a tax payer site. They just have no shame.
Poof

Political shenanigans ?‘poof?’ gone website postings
To the contrary
No magicians here in Picktown
Too many people saw the deed
Too many are tired of your manipulation of local elections
Too many people made copies
Too many people want you out of office

It?’s like a playing field covered in banana peals
Every action you take slips you up more

You won?’t see the end of your time in office
Good-bye
