Dear Pickerington Area residents:
I would like to THANK all of you that helped with the year and a half long petition drive to place these three initiatives (Issues 17, 18, & 19) on the ballot. As we all now know the voters over whelming passed all three initiatives.
I hope I didn't miss any one in this message because it required a very large group of people working in the middle of winter and the heat of July to carry these petitions. We had people stuffing our issue flyers, people hanging the flyers and people making phone calls. We also had people donating money for this cause. Some of whom I don't know yet. To all of you, YOUR efforts were a great SUCCESS!
I don't know what the next few weeks will bring with the current City government. We all must stay very aware of their actions. Clearly the majority of them (exception David Shaver) didn't want these issues to go to the voters. The voters now have sent a very clear message to them. It is no longer a ''SMALL GROUP OF OUTSIDE ELITISTS.'' It is a very large group of Pickerington City REGISTERED VOTERS.''
I would ask that you all plan to attend council meetings on a regular basis. Our present is very important. They just don't like doing their thing in front of witnesses. I suspect they may even call a special meeting within the next couple of weeks before the ballot issues are certified by the Board of Elections.
Please remain vigilant.
