Don't give up the Recall

Posted in: PATA
To all those organizing a recall,

You have to persist with your mission. If you don't, chances are you will end up being very sorry.

Ms. Ross is right--this move does enable Joyce to remain a while longer, and it will bolster her power, not weaken her. But what the recall committee needs to take note of above all else is the free rein Joyce will have with Lou as Mayor. He will appoint Monebrake's replacement, and any other openings he has to fill before long.

Talk about a stacked deck.

You should also really wonder why Randy is leaving. He has the authority to fire Joyce, but needs Council's vote, and Mr. Monebrake is a great supporter of the Mayor.

I sincerely hope the media jumps on this. It is the biggest story to hit this area in a long, long time, and while the resignations themselves are important, they are simply a diversion.

Any decent reporter should wonder what is really driving this behind the scenes, and what Joyce knows about the Mayor, the Council and other prominent local citizens to make this latest move possible.

I hope you are all making your own calls to the Dispatch, Columbus Alive and the Other Paper about this. Key issues passed during the November election, turmoil at City Hall worsens, residents organize for recall. This makes New Rome look like Petticoat Junction.

Michael Maurer from This Week was overheard by several people interviewing Craig Maxey after the meeting out in front of City Hall. The subject was RECALL!
keep those letters coming

They can appoint a person to fill the vacant seats without anyone knowing a thing until it is done. I would suggest that if you know a candidate that is willing to run and serve you need to make your feelings known to the papers. Please contact the candidate prior to promoting him for office. The snoor you send your letters to the paper the more pressure you place on the current council. Write to the local papers and recommend your candidate now before it is a done deal.

Do recall before December31

In the charter, any ''ELECTED official'' is subject to recall after six months. That would make Mr. Postage fair game even as Mayor. Also any appointment could not be an emergency, thank you David Shaver, and would be subject to referendum.

Round two of this chess game is about to begin and the queen will be missing a few pieces on her side.

please do the recall before December 31 to really mix things up good.
