We are now taking bets on which toadies will be placed in office after the same comprehensive interview process as last time. Here are some of the toadies you can place your money on:
Jack Bowman: Good old Jack has never done anything for the community, but he does live near Daryl and did write letters to the editor on behalf of the other toadies. All he got for this was a new lawn and a new driveway when 256 was resurfaced. He also plasters any toady sign that happens to be in print and he has been hanging around counsel meetings. 20-1
King Toady Lee Gray: The only thing about this bet is wondering why he would put himself int he spotlight when he pulls all the strings anyway 50-1.
King Toady's business partner. Chris Smith: This toady already serves on planning and zoning. Since he is familar with ramming through aything the developers wnat, he is a logical toady choice 10-1.
Rany Hughes: Think about it. Rany was going to face election ext year. If he resings, they can appoint him to Monnebrake's spot and he won't have to run for three years. This wwopuld be off the boards, but these are the same people who brought you Craig Maxey. 30-1.
Craig Maxey: Maxey resigns and then is reappointed to Monnebrake's spot. After all, how can counil operate without sewer man. 30-1
David England: Lou Postage's partner. Need we say more. 20-1.
This is just a partial list and I urge everyone to add to it. The more we know about potential toadies the better.

Landslide Jack
I think the odds are too low. After all, Landslide Jack Bowman did get one vote in his precinct for Republican Central Committee (does this mean even his own family couldn't stomach voting for him or that he is schizophrenic and the ''good Jack'' couldn't vote for himself). You also forgot to mention the spiffy new paint job on Jumpin Jack's house.
He works out of his home so he doesn't have to commute through the traffic mess, doesn't have any kids in school and doesn't have any popular support. He does , however, buddy up to the the Big D. In other words, a perfect profile for a toady. Lower to 10-1. Jack's on the toady fastrack.

Where the real money is...
Follow this little twist to keep the developers pawns in line.
Replace the Monebrake pawn with the Gray Bishop in December. After all he?’s 'Seasoned' in the ways of manipulation. Odds 1-1.
Stall, delay, and drag out the movement of replacing the resigning Hughes pawn until after the first council meeting of January since he?’s timed his official resignation to be approximately at the time of the first Council meeting of 2003.
Reorganize the Council with the 'seasoned candidates' in the following structure of board players:
Gray ?– Council President Pro-Tempore.
Postage ?– Vice President Pro-Tempore.
Fill in the other puppet Pawns where they?’ll be most 'developer useful'.
Then implement the Hughes resignation and move Gray to King of the Developer Board (Mayor).
Gray or the other pawns can then either re-institute the Hughes pawn to Council 10-1 odds or any other appropriate toady 15-1 odds to fill the other hole.
Harding?’s quotes in the papers then are realized to their maximum. Sorry Hackworth 1,000,000 ?– 1 odds, you just don?’t measure up in 'seasoning' to these true blue proven leaders and you never will.

no emergency this time
Since there are now only six members of council, there will be no emergency legislation unless Shaver votes Yes, (because of the emergency initiative that passed) that means any appointment is subject to referendum.
Think about it. Then act if they appoint the favored pawns.
