This election is also about momentum. My personal opinion is that the number of citizens opposed to the growth, the school overcrowding and the corruption at City Hall and the Trustees?’ Office is growing. Whether or not the school levy passes (I hope is doesn?’t ?– it might help PLSD to have the State step in) or whether or not Issues 17-19 pass (which I think they will), the constituency is starting to finally wake up and see what is happening. The people who are ?“as mad as hell and don?’t want to take it anymore?” are gaining momentum. Mrs. Reade has gained a huge following. Mr. Hackworth won?’t have to worry about the problems he faced in the last election. He will lead the vote getters by a larger margin than Mr. Shaver did.
Voters will want Mr. Hackworth to represent them for 2 reasons. His heartfelt dedication to the welfare of this community and its citizens and the fact that even if there are not enough candidates to run against the criminals in office now, the voters will at least have given Mr. Shaver someone to work with and not be a lone wolf howling in the wind.
Recall City Council. Let?’s ponder that for a moment. The momentum gained as we approach this election cannot be lost if we don?’t win every battle fought next Tuesday. We have to move on. We can legally get the criminals out of office. Getting petitions signed is an achievable task. Getting voters out for a special election is more difficult. But it is not impossible. We have proved time and again that we can use the legal process in the same way the outlaws use it against us. Hopefully we have learned from every single setback so far. We learned who should write a petition. We learned who should carry them and we know who will sign them. Why not put that all together and start the recall process.
Folks, let me share something that happened early last summer. A group of citizens got together to make a stab at making a difference. They ran for offices, ousted incumbent criminals handily and took their seats. The next month when the next set of elections ran, they were handed their hat and sent home. They were beaten by appointed criminals and the dirty money that they have unlimited access to. This defeat so angered the group that their own infrastructure was fractured. They may never recover.
We can no longer let these criminals anger us. We must remain calm and vigilant in getting them run out of town. If a recall initiative is going to happen, it MUST start now. It must be staffed and it must be funded. Without both, it will fail. Remember that the City hoodlums have unlimited funding to fight us. Thy have ?“The Don?” Berry, his money, the rest of the developers and their money and don?’t forget, they have our money. They spend our money in large quantities to fight us. They will try to anger us by letting us know they are spending our tax dollars to fight us in getting them ousted.
I?’ll close this by saying that you might think my classification of these thieves as too harsh. Remember that each of them is in contempt of court. If it were you or I, we would have been hauled away in handcuffs to face the charges. These people are above the law, as far as they are concerned. They will continue to act as such. However, they are not above the City Charter. Let?’s work together and rid ourselves of this disease now.
