It's time to give FULL credit where it is deserved.
In Jan/Feb 2002 25 building permits were issued out of a total of 385 for the year in the City of Pickerington.
Jan/Feb 2002 represented 6.5% of the years permits.
In Jan/Feb 2003 (as of 2/26) 70 building permits had been issued - almost triple.
If you use LY's relationship that would mean the City of Pickerington is on track to build 1078 single family homes and by the way they are interested in ''Slowing Growth''.....
Ms Bushman said in Pickerington 1.5 children are generated from a new home.
1078 homes * 1.5 kids = SPLIT SESSIONS
Now come the Special Interest Groups...
The BIA was the sole supporter for $1500 of the negative publicity mailed in hopes to defeat Issues 17, 18 and 19 this past November.
Next enters the CBR - Columbus Board of Relators - they want to dictate how business is done in Pickerington. And in Larry Metzger's own words, ''The Mayor and growth advocates on city council really need your support.''
Here's a NEWS Flash - Our Kids need their Support!!
As adults in the greater Pickerington Community - it is our responsibility to put our children in the absolute best enviroment we can. That enviroment should include a safe place to learn & the same extra curricular activities that we grew up with. We need to worry about the kids in the school system, we have a responsibility to them. And if you don't have kids - don't worry - good schools = protected property values. Declining Schools = Declining Property Values. Growth at the continued rates will bankrupt our schools & hurt everyone's property values. If we don't have leaders that recognize that then leadership needs to change.
I believe the Mayor, City Council, BIA & the CBR have made their position clear.
It's time we made our position clear as well.
Come to the City Council Meeting Tuesday at 6:30pm to get a seat - realtors will be there at 7:00pm.
