Here is a story that is very timely..........read it & let me know who you think the players represent !!

THE MOUSE TRAP

A mouse looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer & his wife opening a package. What food might it contain? He was aghast to discover that it was a mouse trap. Retreating to the farmyard the mouse proclaimed the warning: ''There is a mouse trap in the house!'' The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, ''Excuse me, Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is on no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.''

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, ''There is a mouse trap in the house, a mouse trap in the house!'' ''I am very sorry Mr. Mouse,'' sympathized the pig, ''But there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured that you are in my prayers.'' The mouse turned to the cow. And the cow said, ''Like wow, Mr. Mouse. A mouse trap. Like I am in grave danger. Duh...NOT!''

So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mouse trap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, like the sound of a mouse trap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife.

The farmer rushed her to the hospital. She returned home with a fever. Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup. So the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. His wife's sickness continued so that friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer's wife did not get well and a few days later she passed away. So many people came for her funeral, that the farmer had the cow slaughtered, to provide meat for all of them to eat.

So the next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think that it does not concern you, remember that when there is a mouse trap in the house, the whole farmyard is at risk.

Your cast of characters

Dear Closet,

A funny little tale, but to finish out the cast of characters you need to include the BIG FAT CAT that the farmer buys to gobble up the mouse after his barnyard is devoid of other animals.

So in reverse order the BIG FAT CAT is the DEVELOPERS that fight to maintain ownership of this community and keep the citizens from voting on their desire for a decent place to live while the BIG FAT CAT buries this community in THEIR subdivisions.

The COW is the Township that is being feasted upon by the ever hungry City.

The PIG is the City for its gluttonous appetite to turn every farm field into ?‘taxable?’ subdivisions.

The CHICKEN is the School District for not protection itself and being a ?‘true chicken?’ to voice its concerns against the enemy of this whole community and the survival of the ?‘jewel?’ that separates us from Whitehall.

The MOUSE is Lisa Reade and her petitioners who if the don?’t watch out are going to be eaten alive by the BIG FAT CAT that has joined in the legal actions that the City just can?’t seem to fight alone.

Try this instead...

I'm not sure Lisa would appreciate being called cat food ......

How is this scenario.....

The mouse is the Children in the School District,

The Chicken is our City Manager - it seems the effects of the schools are of no consequence to her

The Pig is Violet Township - a kinder, gentler part of the problem - as they pray for the mouse. They too need to be part of the solution.

The Cow with her flip statement is the City Council.

The farmer's wife is APATHY - which in our story dies........

And maybe the snake are the people of Pickerington- caught in a tight spot but still able to defend themselves.

Everyone needs to be part of the Solution - I think that Lisa's email address is down the list. Everyone should help with this fight. I'm sending a check today - Are you ???

Non-Resident Cats

Only one place for a cat to be that doesn't have an address in Violet Township - incorporated or unincorporated.

It's up to the people of all parts of Violet Township to put that cat where it belongs.

I say support the mouse !!!
