MUNICIPALITY OF PICKERINGTON, OHIO

PETITION TO DEMAND THE RECALL OF COUNCILPERSON
WILLIAM WRIGHT

(Note ?– the below notice must be printed in red)

Notice - Whoever knowingly signs this petition more than once, signs a name other than his own, or signs when not a legal voter, is liable to prosecution.

To the City Clerk of the City of Pickerington, Ohio:

Pursuant to section 8.07 of the Charter of the City of Pickerington, the undersigned electors of Pickerington, Ohio demand the removal of Council member William Wright.

The following is a full and correct copy of the text of the recall demand:

Mr. Wright has not conducted himself in a proper manner while being on the Pickerington City Council. He has voted to delegate his legislative authority over to the Pickerington City Manager on matters of grave consequences to the City and Pickerington and the Pickerington School District. In numerous public meetings Mr. Wright has voted against the will of the voters. He has allowed the City Manager and the City Law Director to fight the City of Pickerington voters when they attempted to place issues on the ballot. He has voted to increase the Law Director?’s budget just to pay for these fights. Clearly Mr. Wright in not representing the voters that elected him to office. We therefore; the undersigned demand that Mr. Wright be recalled from his office.

Where do we sign?

Once these are ready for signatures please consider a single point & let people come to you. I believe that's what Upper Arlington did - I for one will come & bring my neighbors.

Clearly the Schools are not first here - with all of Lou's ''Let's be Friends'' talk why isn't the Township in the Community Authority - they are most of the School District & would make the ''common book of zoning'' Lou is also talking about make sense.

By Signature #1
public service

I posted the front pages to a recall petition yesterday. This was a public service to anyone out there willing to cut and paste this to a petition. Please make sure that you change the section that is required to be RED. I haven't figured out how to do red on this site yet. Don't want the battery of lawyers to find a Fatal Flaw.

The second page should list the names of the people on the committee sponsoring this recall. They all must be registered voters in the state of Ohio.

Provide a couple of pages of lines for registered voters from the City of Pickerington to sign their names for this recall. You will need around 471 good signatures. I would go for 600 or more.

Each signature must be witnessed by the circulator. The circulator must sign a statement at the end of every petition. That statement must read as folllows:

I ________________, declare under penalty of election falsification that I am a qualified elector of the State of Ohio and reside at the address appearing below my signature; that I am the circulator of the foregoing petition cantaining _________ signatures; that I witnessed the affixing of every signature; that all signers were to the best of my knowledge and belief qualified to sign; and that every signature is to the best of my knowledge and belief the signature of the person whose signature it purports to be.

A line for your signature
A line for your street address
A line for your city and zip

PLease don't forget the following warning statement right next to this signature.

WHOEVER COMMITS ELECTION FALSIFICATION IS GUILTY OF A FELONY OF THE FIFTH DEGREE.

The above statement must be in bold print.

To make it easy on everyone just print the front page of the petition and go to the Board of Elections and pick up a initiative petition which has pages 2,3 & 4 printed out for you. Take it to Kinkos or maybe a local copy service and create your own recall petition.

Good Luck!!
