Back Bencher
I was sitting in the back row so I couldn't hear everything. I believe Lou Postage has devised a plan to help the money troubled Pickerington local school system. Last week he proposed a Community Authority which would give him and the builders total control over about $35 million to be spent as Lou Postage and the BIA see fit. It is only a matter of time (months not years) before the school district and the city go bankrupt. I believe they talked about solutions and I believe there is one emerging soon. Clearly if the levy fails PLSD will be in default. We can then divide the school district and the city/violet township into two different cities. North of Refugee road going into the City of Reynoldsburg and South of Refugee Road going into Canal Winchester (new) city and their school system. Clearly this would be a great improvement for the local tax payers. We would finally have a larger commercial tax base and our schools would have a much stronger tax base. Each side would receive a middle school, a Junior High School and a High School. Reynoldsburg would get the Hickory Lakes and Canal would take over the Police station. The residents of each city will truly have a downtown area. We will each have a economic director and neither will have a City Manager. We would need to all sign onto the idea and circulate petitions to seceed from Pickerington. Then a merger agreement with Canal and Reynoldsburg. Reynoldsburg already wants the fire district with in their boundaries. I think this is a perfect solutions. OH I FORGOT WE GET TO TAR AND FEATHER THE CURRENT IDIOT SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AND THE IDIOT CITY HALL LEADERS AND THEY WILL BE PLACED ON RAIL AND RODE OUT OF TOWN ON THAT DAMN $17,000 VIOLET FLOAT. I KNOW MANY IN THIS COMMUNITY ARE EASILY CONFUSED THAT IS WHY I AM TYPING IN CAPITALS. THOSE QUALIFING TO BE IDIOTS WILL BE DETERMINED BY A TEST. WHO ARE YOU SLEEPING WITH? I MEAN WHO ARE YOU IN BED WITH? HEY SIGN MAN HOW ABOUT A SIGN WITH THE WORD IDIOTS AND THAT CLEAVER LITTLE RED CIRCLE WITH THE DIAGINAL LINE ACROSS IT. THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED AT THE COUNCIL MEETING LAST NIGHT. |

Disappointing.....
that sums up the council meeting last night. The growth plan was left tabled with agreement from Shaver. The builders are trying to come up with a good plan. Postage's plan doesn't seem realistic to me. Too little money over a 20 yr. span. I got the impression that Postage wants to borrow against future money created by his plan, but I may not have understood properly? Perhaps someone could answer that? He commented that this community authority idea worked for New Albany and Granville. However... New Albany's home prices are CONSIDERABLY higher than the ones going in here. The tax money from those homeowners will be much higher per child than ours. As for Granville, it also has in place a growth plan that includes restricting homes being built to the tune of 1 house per 2 to 5 acres. If there are 6 homes going up, it requires at least 12 acres. The homes can be ''side by side'' but the remaining acreage must remain ''green space'' That is my understanding after talking to a Granville resident. Cannot say for certain the accuracy personally. Disappointing overall. I was hoping for better. |
