Credible Leadership
Bruce,
As Bill Miller may have told you, many of us appreciate your vote on February 3 as you were the only board member that understood the value of extracurricular activities in our education system.
However, it is important that we look to the future rather than dwell on the past.
Many look to you to make sure the past does not repeat itself in terms of finances and public input. Let's hope there is never again a $60,000,000 budget that is approved by our board WITHOUT ANY public input, knowledge and notice. We have more opportunity for input on the State's FY 04 budget than we did have on PLSD's.
Please share finances with the public. Post on this website the entire budget by line item and the three year forecasts. Let the public know the finances like Westerville City School District does. View their website and the financial information available to their voters.
And, Bruce, you and I both know you are sitting on a time bomb. There is going to be a tremendous outcry from the southern half of the district when there is an open house for the new facilities. If levy supporters from the north think the facilities are opulent ... can you imagine what citizens in the southern half of the district are going to say?
The question is what are you doing about it now? Yes, we all know you voted against the levy, but you have been a leadership position now for nearly a year and half ... what have you done and what are you going to do to ensure equal facilities. What is your 'game plan' for the future?
Thanks, Bruce, for your vote on February 3 and your work on our board to better involve the public in the finances of the school district.
