Many complaints, no solutions

If you can answer my questions I asked in the posting ?‘Oh ye hypocrites?’ then I?’ll have a little more faith in this CA. But as it stands right now this is being pushed through without enough forethought being put into what future effect this will have on our schools. This is half-baked in its attempt and I personally believe will have a greater negative impact than it will positive. It may build a couple more schools but it won?’t fund the operating of them.

Please answer the questions in the posting I referred to and honestly tell me this CA has been thought through thoroughly. Also please don?’t patronize me by asking me to learn the facts. The FACT is that NO ONE knows what the impact will be by implementing this CA. The FACT is that our schools are bursting at the seams NOW. The FACT is this CA doesn?’t pay for operating expenses. The FACT is that we can?’t pass an operating levy for our schools NOW let alone pass one to fund the operating costs associated with more new schools. The FACT is that I?’ve talked to a LOT of people who don?’t support the school levies now let alone if they were paying $800 a year more than their neighbors.

I don?’t have all the numbers but if we had these new schools available TODAY they would probably be filled by all of the kids sitting in trailers now let alone all the kids 300 more homes each year will bring in. 300 homes a years is also a joke because do you think that a paltry $1000 fee for exceeding 300 homes per year will stop any builder? ?“Hmmm, lets see I can sell this $200K home and make a whopping profit and pay $1000 to the city or I could just stop building homes for the rest of the year??” Think that $1000 would be absorbed by the builder or possibly passed onto the consumer? I wonder what the builder will do. Any thoughts?

The FACT is that there are no real controls in place to stop 450 or 500 homes from being built each and every year.

If it sounds like I?’m mad and frustrated then my message has come across clearly. I?’m not buying into this as solving any of our problems, just putting a temporary happy face on uncontrolled growth!
What's a toady?

Just curious, what's a'toady'? Is this a compliment or a (gasp!) racial slur?
What developments have $225K?

We have been looking for homes recently in both the township & the City....

How can the average house price be $225K - I don't get it - but maybe I don't know where to shop?? I've seen from the $140's, $160's, $180's & maybe a few at $200K.

If $225K is the average then there must be something out there higher than $225K to balance this out - I can't believe the Parade of Homes can offset the rest of Pickerington.

Point me in the right direction - where are these homes at $225K or above in the City that are new builds? I'd like to see a chart from Mayor Postage with the average home price per development & # of homes that development contains - we should be able to do the weighted average pretty quick. But I'm guessing that's a number he wants us to think is real - don't choke on the smoke or run into a mirror - you could get hurt.

By Been house shopping.....
Good Faith

I would challenge that if that would be the case then the Pickerington CA should NOT be approved without language to the effect.

There are a few developers that are common. Are they willing today to commit their Township lands?

That was not my impression from Tom Hart, but things could have changed.
