?“name withheld upon request?”
Sara,
Let me give you a quote as I attempt to answer your question as to some people commentating without naming themselves.
?“Laws can embody standards; governments can enforce the laws ?– but the final task is not a task for government. It is a task for each and every one of us. Every time we turn our heads the other way when we see the law flouted ?– when we tolerate what we know to be wrong ?– when we close our eyes and ears to the corruption because we are too busy, or too frightened ?– when we fail to speak up and speak out ?– we strike a blow against freedom and decency and justice.?”
I believe these words very dearly; however I realize that some are afraid of the consequences of speaking out. I hear this quite often from people that reach me as the Contact Person for PATA. These people also have a right to be heard and to have others hear, read, or know their words. For it?’s not the authors name that impresses me about the information being transmitted, it?’s the words, feelings, ideas, and points of view being transmitted that are the message.
The author of the above quote may or may not impress you. His name was Robert F. Kennedy and a short while later he was shot to death as he expressed his viewpoints. Again I state, it?’s not the name of the author more the message he was sending and in all aspects of life there are consequences and rewards for expressing oneself.
For those of you that remember, newspapers used to print letters with the words ?“name withheld upon request?”. I view the posters on this website that post without their names as using the same discretion.
