I was reminded of the numbers ($35-50 million) that would benefit the schools if the Community Authority comes into being when I read this article in the Dispatch yesterday regarding revenue to be generated my the Mega Millions lottery.
''Mega Millions has failed to make the state, or any of its residents, much richer.
Profits from the multistate lottery game are nowhere near the $41 million that state officials had anticipated. It has produced just $8.8 million in additional revenue with 2 1/2 months left in the fiscal year.''
Is the going to be the headline in the Pickerington papers in a few years? And where will the council members and city manager be then? I bet it won't be in Pickerington!
