Truth Hurts

Pickerington City residents, you are getting sleepy. When I count to three and snap my fingers you will be under my total control. SNAP!!!!!!

You will continue to show interest in your city government. You will attend as many public meetings as your schedule will allow. You will tell your neighbors of your concerns. You shall ask our elected leaders questions that you might have and you will be directed to vote in record numbers.

One of your resources for information in asking questions will be to your left in the ?“OUR?” pages. Much of this information is public documents that has been requested from our government and posted on this site. You will soon receive another PATA newsletter and it will contain additional information with an opinion added. The combination of the public documents on this site and the PATA newsletters being hung on your mail boxes create a very powerful tool in the control of the corrupt Pickerington City Government.

Now I see the Chamber of Commerce getting in on the corruption band wagon by trying to prop up Lou Postage and his gang with their support of the Community Authority. The Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce is a pitiful group. Most of the members are external to the Pickerington area only trying to get their name out. Many of the local members are builders (their subcontractors) and realtors. The actual area businesses that would rely on a legitimate Chamber are not members. When Gary Peterman warns the city residents not to embarrass them selves by voting for a recall, he should first look closer at his membership in the good old boys club in downtown Pickerington. They are a disgrace to the city and its residents.

I guess I must be talking with a different group of people here in Pickerington. Yesterday, two different people that were both city residents, referred to the city council members being recalled as the Mafia. Then another asked if this council could be that stupid without being paid off by the builders.

Clearly members of PATA can?’t be influencing that many people if their information is false. Here is another point; I think the treasurer of PATA needs to start billing all of these so called PATA members that are causing all of this turmoil in town. If all of these people that are suppose to be PATA members actual paid up their dues then the officers in the association could hold their winter?’s meetings in Florida. It seems the current Pickerington City Council is trying to make the case that the City residents are too stupid to go to the ballot and vote their wants and desires with out the strong influence from a group like PATA. It seems there were over 2900 voters that voted in favor of the Issue 19 last November. Look at the votes that voted our current council men into office (range of 875 to 1100). I am sure that if the vast majority of this city?’s voters that stayed home on the odd year elections would come out to vote this November we would end this crap down on Lockville Road.

Hand written note

I received this note yesterday to be read at the next Pickerington city council meeting. I thought it might get a larger reading here on this site. Clearly the gentleman that handed me this note doesn't have a computer nor does he have access to this web site. He told me that he was collecting signatures on the five recall petitons and to date NO ONE has refused to sign his petition in his neighborhood.

MY REASONS FOR CARRYING A RECALL PETITION:

Appointed Mr. Maxey to Council after the electors voted him out of office. The current councilmen who voted for his appointment: Mr. Postage, Mr. Wright, Mr. Fox, and Mr. Parker. A direct disregard for the wishes of the people of the City of Pickerington. The election process as, Mr. Gray, stated at the last council meeting doesn?’t work in the City of Pickerington.

Building a $17,000 float for a parade doesn?’t seem to me as a very fruitful use of taxpayer?’s money. MY MONEY!

Spending $20,000 of our money for a Hickory Lakes Park that isn?’t even in direct access to the City of Pickerington. This money will never be recovered if the purchase isn?’t completed another example of misspending our money.

The Pickerington communicator 2001 issue which was published just prior to that year?’s election of council. No issue in 2002, No council election! Just received 2003 issue another election year for council so more FREE CAMPAIGN LITERATURE at TAXPAYER?’S Expense. Next issue will be just before Election again.

Please do read this gentlemen's very appropriate and accurate comments at the next meeting, and repeat them to everyone you can.

It's clear that council members are going to have each of their relatives and friends, along with cooperative business owners, landowners, and others with ''something to lose'' write letters to local papers criticizing the recall effort. The common theme of these letters, ''it's all political, not really growth related'' betrays their common origin. Not a half bad strategy given their options...too bad they're not as effective at doing what the people want.

As such, I think those who support a recall should be equally aggressive (but very nice) about stating the reasons that a recall is appropriate. Here's the good news...the facts are very heavily on our side!!

Share these reasons at council meetings, school board meetings, trustee meetings, with your neighbors and in letters to the local papers. While the reasons noted in the prior posting are important, the impact that council's actions are having on the schools may be the most important issue to the citizens of this community. The ''traffic'' issue also resonates, as does pointing out the many ways in which council has ''obstructed'' efforts to stop growth in the past.

The Communicator....the letter campaign...the community authority...all are the council equivalent of military harassment actions along supply lines. It's all they can think of to stop what they can't fight directly...an overwhelming public perception that rapid growth is hurting our community, and that council can't, won't, or doesn't want to, stop it.
