Does anyone know how many Kindergarteners are registered?
I know of one teacher being added - if that is all, we will have 14 Kindergarten teachers with the capacity for 700 students.
$180,000/700 = $257 per Kindergarten family to maintain AM/PM everyday Kindergarten.
If they all go to the next Board meeting in a snit can this be considered? At least this option is self funding for the coming years.
What happens to Extra Curriculars next year - do the Builder's chip in again or do the fee's double?

'Pay to go 1/2 day'
We don't have a Kindergarten Boosters Club to pick up the cost of those families who couldn't 'pay to go 1/2 day' so we'll just brush that under the rug.

PeeWee Football
If we introduce PeeWee Football, we can have PeeWee Athletic Boosters.
We only need to raise $180K vs. $1.3M
Maybe every builder should contribute $10.0K per home to get an occupancy permit - what's the price tag of those these days? We'd only need to build 18 homes to solve this crisis. Maybe the extra $'s could go toward the next Elementary School.

I hope you are kidding!
I have a better suggestion, let this pretty affluent community find a way to get their high schoolers to school(or let them *gasp* walk or ride a bike if they live within a mile or two--it was two miles when I went to school and that was only in the late 80's not so long ago--we survived) and take that bus money and use it to meet the ACADEMIC needs of kids who are just starting to learn basics critical to their education.
BTW, we have chosen instead to use the EXCELLENT K12 curriculum via OHVA. It is known to exceed requirements in the traditional public school and it will give my kinder child the consistency she is not going to get out of a Pickerington kinder class this year. Why on earth would I pay the money for Kinder in a brick and mortar school when I could use an excellent curriculum in my home(with no additional monies on my part) and I am a stay at home parent anyway?
