I wouldn't just give them a ''pass'' on this one...

As someone noted in an earlier posting, that is a surprisingly large number no matter how you look at it. That's particularly true given the school's problems.

Nobody cares what I think, but someone with a little name recognition should issue a press release to the local papers. (including the Lancaster and Columbus papers) Normally, there's a bit of spin and sensationalism in those sorts of things, but in this case, I think the facts of this development alone would guarantee coverage in the local papers, and I think you'd be likely to get into the bigger papers too. I can't imagine anyone in Pickerington reading that number in the papers and not being ''shocked''.

Would it also be true to add that no significant subdivisions have been planned, platted or approved that meet the ''two homes per acre'' requirement that passed so overwhelmingly last year? If that's true, it's equally shocking and should also be made public.

I'll write to the papers (again), but I think they're getting a little sick of hearing from me. I think I've seen school board members, council persons, candidates, and others who people recognize on this site. I'll leave it to you, but I wouldn't just give them a ''pass'' on this one...a press release is really just a ''word'' document with ''Press Release'' written in bold at the top, and a contact name that someone would care about contacting...
