More info here

Somebody needs to pick this up even though it is in Liberty Township...... it is in the PLSD. I cannot imagine a density of 2.33 per acre in this largely agricultural and 10/15 acre lot area that fits in with the surrounding community.

Please respond and seek representatives to attend this meeting. I cannot attend the meeting but I will write a letter to the zoning commission.

I received this email from Mr. Sam Turner.

Subject: 100 acre Roshon farm rezoning

We received a notice from the Liberty Township Zoning Commission about a public hearing Mon. June 9 at 8pm at 816 W. market St., Baltimore, Ohio. Then we received a letter from Dorothy & Richard Roshon, 5805 Heimberger Lane at Stoudertown Rd. telling us that their 100 acre farm that is behind our property is being sold & rezoned from ''Agriculture & Residence'' to ''proposed use P-D planned unit development (PUD).'' We were invited to attend a mtg. on June 1 & 2, at the Roshon's home to view the proposed development (''which will enhance the value of our properties & will be a standard by which future township developments are measured'').

We went to the mtg. at the Roshon's & discovered this 100 acres is in the Pickerington School District but in Liberty Township. The developer proposes to build 200 + homes and condos & plans 2.33 homes per acre. We ask if they had set aside property to build a school or money to support a school since this development would fill an elementary school. They stated they had offered Liberty Township the property but they declined. We stated we weren't surprised they declined because the children wouldn't be going to their school, but to Pickerington Schools. They just shrugged their shoulders.

The developers stated they thought it would take up to 5 yrs before this development would become a reality & at this time, do not know who the builders will be nor the price of the homes nor if it would stay at 2.33 homes per acre. They want to get the property rezoned first & go from there.

Wasn't sure if you were aware of this rezoning. We think the voters should be made aware of this since it could affect the vote on the next bond/levy issue. Besure the school bd won't inform us. Do you think someone from your organization should probably attend the mtg. to become better informed ?

Sincerely,

Sam & Betty Turner
