Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

2 Questions

Posted in: PATA
Please forgive me if these questions have been answered previously but I have two questions:

1) Why can't the City of Pickerington and Violet Township City Councils work together to come up with a viable solution to the development and school issues our community is facing? The only information I've found so far indicates that the City of Pickerington wants to have everything their way or no way. Is this really true? Does the City of Pickerington City Council really think it is so important that it can't cooperate to find a balanced solution or is it that there are several members of Council who are 'owned' by the BIA and just don't care what the community thinks?

2) Why doesn't the School Board make more of an issue over growth? They made sure the word got out about cutting sports and the community was in an uproar over that decision. There does not seem to be the same level of concern when it comes to the academic or possible over crowding conditions facing the schools now. Is this an issue with the School Board or is it just the people in the community are only concerned about certain issues - such as sports?

Thank you
Jeff

You answered your own question

Jeff,
The present city council dances to the tune of
the BIA and they believe the citizens are too
stupid to see their tricks. Also take a look
at the levy donations to the schools. The builders make a token donation, while they are
taking hundreds of thousands $ into their pockets
from uncontrolled development.

There are city council meetings the first and third Tues. of each month at 7:30 pm. (at city hall) If you can make it, you'll find them informative and interesting. You may have to attend several to get a feel for what our city council and manager are about. However, if you stick it out, they DO all show thier true colors. I have attended many to make up my own mind about what I have been reading. It's also an advantage to have new faces added to the audience that our council ''performs'' before. This next meeting should be an interesting one and I suspect you'll get the opportunity to see a sampling of how each of our council members stand. (I use the term ''stand'' generously) :)

Jeff,

Who has the $$ vested interest?
Don?’t look for the corporate names ?– corporations can?’t contribute to specific candidates. Look for pigeons, the bag men, the land speculators, the agents of the corporations.

Any coincidence that?’s when the PACC began noises then trying to limit PATA?’s ability to distribute this information?
