Your joking right?
Marcy, you have got to be kidding me. The out of control behavior that has gone on here lately has be a direct result of Mark's misdirected attacks on board members.
To say Mark rationally discusses issues or is logical in his arguments only proves to me that you really haven't read his postings.
Marc(y) Uher seems to be able to bring out the worst in many people.

School Board & Growth
I think is the key to controlling growth in this community is the school board.
The fact is there are financial incentives for our schools to encourage growth. More students mean more power, more control and more money in their wallets. The larger the school enrollment, the larger salaries our top administrators can demand. The larger the district, the more teachers they can hire to provide more votes and campaign dollars for elected officials. The larger the district, the bigger the fish that board members are.
Let's face it ...if our school board -- as by far the largest employer and largest financial resources in the community -- wanted to control growth, they could. Easily. The school community could elect who ever within what ever unit government.
If Pickerington schools wanted to control growth, they would elect a state representative that would introduce legislation to help our schools instead of petty legislation.
Why didn't the school board provide financial incentives to the new superintendent to find legal ways to limit school growth within his new contract?
In business, you reward employees for achieving the consensus goals created by all. Why not legally encourage creative thinking to control growth among employees and students? Why not assign in POD classes for senior students essays on growth & its impact on the community? Why not assign research assignments to staff to explore communities like Granville & Hudson and how they control growth?
Why hasn't the board passed a motion to have staff to sit down with the creators of the Newark-Granville community authority to find out how their schools controlled growth?
Why hasn't our school board created a strategic planning committee to develop a long-term plan for our schools including effective strategies to control growth?
The fact of the matter is our school board has not wanted to control growth and no one -- including Rigelman & Oakes -- has really rolled up their sleeves and got to work on how our board can control growth.

Tax 'Em Big Time
You got it right, O.C. Tax the builders. Tax them big time for the damage done to Pickerington.
Tom Hart with the BIA laughs at Bruce Rigelman, but knows Mark Uher will get the job done. Expect lots of campaign dollars from builders to go into the pockets of people who oppose Mark.
Funny. BIA & PATA on the same side. Tells you something.
