PLSD - Control Health/W.C Costs

Posted in: PATA

Mr. Rigelman,

What is has the Board's Finance Committee done to control the two fastest-rising costs within the school district -- health care and workers' compensation costs?

What was the annual workers' comp premium last year for PLSD? Are you aware your W.C. bill that you will receive this month will quadruple your W.C. costs from last year... yes, a 300% increase from last year? Did you budget for the increase? Will you enroll in the BWC's 50/50 plan to save? Have you decided to participate in group rating program, develop a 10-step business plan or used the free consulting services offered by the BWC to save money on your W.C. costs?

Have you taken advantage of any of the FREE training courses offered by the BWC Division of Safety & Hygiene Training Center right there in Pickerington (across from the R.G. Barry Corp. Headquarters).

Please let us all know what the Board's Finance Committee is doing to contain soaring costs, Bruce.

Druming up business

Sounds like you are drumming up some personal business with the board. I just hope you piss Bruce off enough that he runs again and completely locks you out of the loop from any board information. I sure is lonely since Debbie left isn't Mark. No more slipping you e-mails that she received from Bruce Rigelman and Bank-one. No more working the PATA web site together like you did in Novmeber 2001 to try and get the advocates of growth elected at city hall. Getting lonelier by the day.

Only Oakes Drums Up Business

My dearest Dr. Pepper,

Sorry. The only person I know who tries to drum up school district business for their private gain is Gail Oakes ... and that is to the tune of $6685 within a year.

Sorry. I was suggesting FREE training courses offered by the BWC Training Center in Pickerington that I have no relationship with at all.

Nice try. Try again.

Gail Oakes Remarks in Jan. 99

Dr. Pepper --

Want a laugh? I know you will find this hard to believe but Gail Oakes actually said that 'I was too nice' to be effective at helping the school district at a board meeting in January 1999.

Oakes said I was 'too complimentary' of the schools' successes, the board leaders, the outstanding teachers and administrators.

Well, I have tried to listen and take Oakes' suggestions to heart.

Ask her if this is not true when you see her today.
