Pick. School Board - From an educational standpoint what specifically did you evlauate when you made the determination to go to all day every other day for K?? Please site references materials and experts consulted. Bruce R. you stated in your ''opinion'' their would be no educational harm. What is the basis of you opinion. Be specific. Stemen disagrees. The public perception is that the K decision was purly finacial. If that is truely the case then so state. Board it is not the public's job to do your job. As the Board evaluate the educational aspects of K and make the best education choise. It is your elected duty to see to the best education of our youth. Per Wes M. when it comes to students and education the Board should always error on the side education. Stand behind your words do the work show the public that you have listend and that you in an unbiased manner evaluated the educational aspect of the K proposal. Present your findings and the basis to the public as a unified Board and post them to this site. Instill our trust in you and your abilities to act on our behalf.

I and the public await your specific reply. No B.S., double talk, or tossing of the issue back on the public's shoulders. This is not a request for debate it as request for answers so that the public clearly understands the basis for the Boards position. We do not have to agree but we do have to understand. The burden of proof is yours not ours. That is why we elected you.

June 30 is a good time to publicly state your K educational position and to establish its basis in the public eye. I trust we will see the issue on the agend as a ''discussion item'' as a minimum.

What's the problem?

with having Kindergarden for a full day, every other day as opposed to 5 half days? How does this ''harm'' the child? What is this opinion based on? My child graduated from Pickerington a couple of years ago. It was always my experience that the greatest damage done to the children at ALL ages was the lack of parental involvement. A child's most critical learning comes from home, not school. I just don't see how half a day versus full days makes any difference one way or the other to a child's development. Give me some input here? to better understand?
