Bushman land speculation??

Posted in: PATA
Man I don?’t know what the big deal is here. I see you have now published some letters from 1998 about some silly little land deal by City Manager Joyce Bushman. Certainly the statues of limitations would have now been met and any legal action that anyone would have taken against the manager can not be pursued. So why are we dragging up this old news. I am sure the City Manager has learned her lesson and she no longer speculates in Pickerington Area Farm land.

Ohio State University, who are the 2003 National Football Champions, would not have presented her with an award if she wasn?’t doing a good job. In fact the award noted below is her second such award.

She clearly states in her letter to Mayor Gray that she was not supervisor the building inspector in the rezoning of this land. The Mayor and the Law Director knew about this so you now want to spread doubt about the Law Director Mapes and former Mayor Gray. I guess you think they are crooks also?

I suppose you want to drag the school into this land speculation also. Just because this is the property where the Diley Road Middle School was built and Lewis Stemen wanted this passed as an emergency so that no one could run a referendum on it.

Do you really think these guys are still doing this stuff? Clearly Joyce Bushman wasn?’t thinking clearly when she signed an option to purchase this vacant farm land south of the city. How could she possibly have known that they would want to build houses and a school on this property? She has no vote on the zoning commission so how could she possibly have predicted the outcome of any zoning decision?

Yes you may have the letters and I am not sure they are real but they don?’t prove anything. Mrs. Bushman is a fine City Manager and it is time we all start to realize that. If it wasn?’t for her we wouldn?’t have the Parade of Homes here. If it wasn?’t for her we would not have the Violet Festival here. We are a very progressive city not unlike Dublin Ohio. This is all because of Joyce Bushman. Thank god we have Joyce.

LMAO

Thanks - I needed a good laugh this morning.

Statute

Yes, the statute of limitations may have run it's course on this, and as much as I'd like to see Joyce Bushman wearing jailhouse orange (size 28) there may be other value to this information.

Let's see...the contraversial city manager, who everyone seems to now associate with our commuinites ''third world'' growth rate, is discovered to have purchased farmland that shortly after became much more valuable as residential property as a result of the actions of the planning and zoning folks who report to her. In addition, this process involved former Mayor and DUI activist Gray, and former law director and Insurance activist Don McAullife.

And just to make everything ''ok'', the city manager excluded herself from both discussions, and the management of the people who lives she can influence during the portions of the discussions that invovled this issue...and she was careful in her own mind not to consider any ''inside'' information she may have had about the city, developers or council's plans for that land...BULLSH#$!!!!!!!!!

In fact, it's so obviously bullsh#% that any reasonble person who hears it will be shocked and feel like they'd just lost their option on the Brooklyn Bridge...it provides yet another reason why our city might be oppossing the will of the citizens...because they haven't made enough money for themselves yet.

Same as with the building permits, I'd do everything I could to put this in every paper that cares...reporters really like this kind of stuff, nothing adds readers like catching someone in power abusing the rest of us for their own personal gain....

Fire Away, and be sure to keep mentioning McAullife and Gray's involvement, as their involvement helps set the context in which these discussions likely took place.
