Sorry for my juvenile response to your last paragraph, but DUH!!!!! Of course we're getting a South High. It will be called Rt. 33 View.
As to your earlier paragraphs, this same codger with the wide heinie accused PATA and MANY others at attempting to influence an election. Looks like he did a little more than attempt. He succeeded!
Recount, recount, RECOUNT!
Rectify the election improprieties. At least investigate for crying out loud.

Political machine
Oh what a tangled web we weave.
Mr. Uher now is concerned for a situation he helped mastermind. Unfortunately for all of us we have committed ourselves to this mess by allowing this school and the athletic boosters to push us into this new High School at a cost of $77 million. It was created on the false sense that we could support a facility of this magnitude on a faulty tax base. The same people that pushed for the new school still don?’t understand the damage they have done to this community.
First let?’s identify those that have been put into office by the powerful athletic booster/political machine. First there is our Mayor Lou Postage. He has been on council for 20 years and exactly what has he done for the city? Then we have the school board president Wes Monhollen. Remember Mark Uher was his treasurer during his campaign. Even though they both have tried to publicly distance themselves from each other they still conspire to rule by the use of the athletic booster clubs. Then lesser figures like Lori Sander and Larry Sigman. Then out in the township we have Harry Myers and Terry Dunlap. Both were supported by the Athletic boosters.
Past figures have been former Mayor Randy Hughes and former councilman Jeff Monebrake. Remember Randy Hughes saying that Forest Yocum meet with Lou Postage every Thursday? Why would you have a school district superintendent meeting with a local city councilman every Thursday? Where they coordinating their strategy? You bet they were.
What have we got from this leadership? A. Higher taxes and more homes!
Remember one can?’t survive without the other. If you attend a few Pickerington City Council meetings you will see the constant playing of the athletic booster card by Lou Postage. Even to the point of having the school board President Wes Monhollen support an his ill thought out Community Authority. Wes?’ support of that CA is nothing more than propping up Lou Postage and his failed polices. How in the world can building 3000 more homes in the next ten years benefit the schools? That is exactly what Wes Monhollen is saying by supporting this CA. A quote from the paper yesterday from Rigelman was that those voting for the CA on council should be voted out of office. Well then why is the school board president supporting it? He wants to protect his friend Lou Postage.
Will a larger school district benefit anyone? Will a school district growing so fast that it leaves a group of vacant school buildings in 10 or 20 years good for anyone? For those that want to pattern Pickerington after Bexley and Upper Arlington remember they are losing students.
What needs to be pointed out over and over again is the linkage between these boosters and the political leaders here in Pickerington. They use our own emotions for the well fare of our children to control us. They use data from I am not sure from where to control us and push us to vote their way. Trying in public to stay disconnected from those in office that are screwing up and all the time in the back room plotting.

Kudos?’ Dan
Welcome to a new voice that has connected the ?“building blocks?” between City & Schools & Development efforts to bury us.
My favorite example to these means happens to be one that some may not have seen and still others couldn?’t believe.
In the December 19, 2002 issue of ?“This Week in Pickerington?” page A12 had the unbelievable full page ad of the perpetual levy committee thanking their supporters for their efforts in the Issue 4 campaign (a combined levy & bond) that went down in flames. Full page ads run about a grand mind you ?– and that 6 weeks after the levy / bond defeat.
It goes?…
Thank you.
?…
?…
Thank you to all eight Parent ?– Teacher Organizations, Pickerington Education Association, and Pickerington Athletic Boosters.
It goes on to note High School National Honor Society students?… however, it forgets to remind us that these were many of the juveniles that so wonderfully wallpapered our community with signs last fall.
?…
NOW THE BEST PART ?–
Thank you Pickerington area businesses and companies doing business in Pickerington for your contributions to the Issue 4 campaign ?….
I really appreciate PATA?’s past Newsletter and website posting of the pie graph showing that these ?“contributors?” were largely a mass of OUT OF TOWN DEVELOPERS AND BUILDERS.
We now see these same scallywags as the primary operatives behind Lou Postage & Tom Hart?’s ?“Community Authority?” sham.
So yes Dan you?’ve hit it on the head showing that School boosters are friends of those with development interests and everybody knows that Lou and Tom are ?“tight?”. Isn?’t it ridicules the way Wes keeps tripping over his tongue to appease Lou.
The connections ?– Developers ?– City ?– Blind School Advocates --- Yup!
