PICKERINGTON
Schools still waiting for builders ?’ contributions
A developer has told Pickerington schools that he is cutting a contribution for extracurricular activities from $375,000 to $300,000.
Heatherbrook developers, which had pledged the largest portion of the $600,000 builders said they would provide the district, also told the district it would delay the gift until Sept. 15, Assistant Superintendent Lew Stemen said.
None of the builders has made a payment toward the pledge.
Despite the delay and reduced amount, Stemen remained hopeful.
''The bottom line is, we?’re going to get a sizable donation,'' he said.
Another $225,000 was pledged from the Building Industry Association, which later said the gift was conditional on Pickerington creating a community authority to raise additional taxes from new development.

I'm so proud to once again be reminded that our school board made decisions on non-existent funds.
