I will be voting for Lisa Reade this fall, and I will be campaigning for her before the election. Lisa is very community-minded and fiscally responsible. I believe she would never make decisions off of ''pledged'' money, only money in hand, just like Gail Oakes. Lisa is a slow-growth advocate because she understands that the more over-crowded the schools become, the less the children learn. Martha England has been quoted in local papers saying the state ratings for PLSD went down this year because the population is growing, and it's hard to remain ''excellent'' the larger you grow. This is why Lisa thinks the school board needs to take a strong stand on growth. Lisa has a passion for the students, as she has demonstrated with her involvement in Patches for Progress.
I will do what I can to help Lisa Reade win. If you would like to call me to discuss, my number is 863-1547.

you mean you want a change?
From the PATA front page ---
You've had enough of this?
True to Form - BIA shows itself
From the Columbus Dispatch - BUILDERS HEDGING ON DONATION
strings are tied to action the builders want from Pickerington City Hall.
.....
caught with pants down...
School board President Wes Monhollen said he did not know the BIA was linking its donation to the community authority until he read Hart's letter.
And school-board members Larry Sigman and Lori Sanders said they did not know until a reporter told them.

Controlling Growth
Katelyn,
While I respect your opinion to support Lisa Reade, I am disappointed with her sole focus on controlling growth for the school board.
As you well know, if we stop ALL new housing permits for the entire four years of Reade's term on the school board, the school board would still have to educate roughly 6000 more students than we have today.
We all agree with Reade that growth must be controlled. So what are her plans for our schools?
As pointed out in one of the postings (and it was not me), one of the biggest issues facing the school board is contract negotiations with the PEA. Open meetings are important.
If Lisa Reade wanted to solely control growth, why did she run for Mayor of Pickerington or City Council or Township Trustee? Those positions control growth ... not the school board.
