I know the list of contributors for the 2001 election is posted here, but can we get a copy of the 2003 contributors?
In his mailing, Mr Smith said he would not except donations from any developers (wonder where he got that from?). Can he be trusted? Or how they working around that??

Pre-Election reports.
David
Those pre-elections reports will be available sometime after October 23rd. It will include the candidates spending and expenses prior to October 15th. However remember that in 2001 the four incumbents did not file pre-election reports with the board of elections. They were trying to cover up the fact that they got $31,000 mostly from the building industry. I believe there will be at least four candidates file and we know who they are because they are proud of their donor lists.
Can you trust Chris Smith? Can you trust Lee Gray. The answer is the same.

Thanks
For the info. And, yes, we do know who will file and who won't.
And Lee has no interest in what's going on at city hall.

Many wait until after Oct 15
Having followed these reports since 1999, I have seen a pattern develop. Most developer contributions come in or are listed after Oct. 15th, of course this is for a very good reason. Those amounts posted on the reports after October 15th are not reported until after the election by Ohio Law.
Additionally,You will not see development company names as corporate contributions are illegal, you will see individual names who are associated with developers, you will see their wives and children's names too so they can increase the contribution levels to each candidate. Fortunately, we have people in the community who are able to connect the individuals to the companies or special interests that are supported by such individuals. Unfortunately, you will not know who contributed until after the election in 2003. That is why the 2001 report is important as it establishes a pattern of who supports who, one that can be forseen for the current election.
This is also why the Lee Gray connection and who signed the petitons is important, as it could suggest a pattern of who and how these people will listen to.
