What is your opinion regarding the upcoming combined performance by Central's and North's band in NYC on Veteran's Day?

Confused,
I know you didn?’t ask for my opinion, but I have one. I am very disturbed, that in light of the supposed continuing financial distress of PLSD, they would even consider such a boondoggle. And I could care less about how this trip is financed. If the band raised every single penny to fund the trip, that money should be used elsewhere to help the district?’s financial issues. Perhaps they could fund bussing to away games. Perhaps they could reduce the parking fees at ballgames. I am sure many people could come up with a better use for the money than this trip to NYC.

Boondoggle


Ultra was right.

It is a boondoggle.

I have kids in both the band and athletics at both Central and Lakeview. I think it just is not fair to Rob Peter to Pay Paul. All of the fee charged at North football games goes to pay for the band to travel to away football games. At Central, junior high sports were cut so the money could send their band to away football games.

Now we find out that the parking fees and cutbacks in sports will send the bands to a luxury trip to New York City.

All the band parents were told we have friends in high places.
