Newsletters from the city

Posted in: PATA
I see to the left that our fair city is spending a $1,000 per issue to print and publish the ''Communicator'', which is short for promoting Lou Postage. Please keep in mind that there is also over $1,100 worth of postage that goes with this newsletter.

Clearly Lou Postage lacks any ethics and doesn't see the problem with promoting himself at other's (taxpayer's) expense. I see that he now has put out an ad using the Kohl's store front logo without permission. The fact is that Kohl's has NOT decided to locate their store on Hill Road North (Old Driving range). Lou is so desprate for good news that his now making it up. Even Wes Monhollen can't see any problems with accepting the $375,000 for the schools in exchange for a zoning varience.

What are we teaching our children?

Correction - costs MUCH higher

That contract with Write Image is strictly for design and consultation, it does NOT include printing costs. Of course you mentioned the postage costs, but if you look at the very bottom lines, it states the city is responsible for printing, scanning costs, materials, postage, mailing, etc etc. So:
$1,000.00 design costs

$1,100. postage approx. (if they use the .072 cents per issue non-profit flat per piece rate.

$?? scanning costs

$1,700.00 approx printing costs,ONLY if they have already paid for pre printed masthead, i.e. if they are just adding text to paper that already has the city logo on it, etc. More if they run in full, multi color)

Pre run masthead - (pre run pieces at a guess only, too many factors can change this cost) - $2,500.00

best guess possible cost per mailing:$6,200.00 give or take

10 mailings per year - $62,000.00 give or take

That is a paycheck for many folks

Cease and Desist

Ahem... has anyone contacted/forwarded this on to Kohl's? Some time back our infamous ex, now in jail sheriff, used the Bo Knows stuff on T shirts, etc, and received a we are going to sue you if you don't cease letter from Nike when someone sent them a photo. They stopped using it pronto, with an apology (insert ''please don't sue me)
