Back-room deals and private meetings conducted by our elected officals serve no useful purposes. Rampant residential growth has placed a burden on schools and services. Citizens are saying enough is enough. Several of the more outspoken critics created a self-appointed group calling itself the CommUNITY 1st Task Force. This type of shadow government is ill-advised. Organizer (Lisa Reade) say excluding the public and the media is necessary so they can manage a large number of ideas from a diverse group in a short amount of time. This approach is the same thing about which they (self-appointed group) have been critical of their elected officials. Excluding the public ... is a mistake. It also fosters opportunities for hidden and private agendas to come to the forefront under the guise of 'community-driven' when in fact it is 'select-community-members-driven.
