What a great article in ?“This Week?” about the last minute candidates for mayor, and the involvement of former and current city officials. Even given the paper?’s efforts to present the issue objectively, it comes across loud and clear that the current administration is scared, they are prepared to take desperate action, and that they are still influenced (led?) by their former leaders.
There were a couple of facts that I think were missing from that article, at least I think they were facts?…Isn?’t one of our former mayors, and the organizer of these petitions, now or in the past, an employee of the Homewood Corporation? If that?’s true, including that fact in the article would certainly have further illustrated the potential motives for these actions.
Didn?’t I also hear that same individual circulated petitions for council candidates as well. I noticed that wasn?’t mentioned in the article either.
Not sure of my facts, but if those things are true, I would think it would be in the interests of those who oppose rapid residential growth to point out those oversights in a series (barrage?) of letters to this paper. Nothing will get your letter in the paper faster than having it ?“tag?” on to an article they?’ve previously featured?…especially if there is some praise included for the author?’s initiative.
I would think that properly worded letters, outlining Mr. Grey?’s affiliation with Homewood (if that?’s true) would amount to the ?“kiss of death?” for those candidates if it could become common knowledge in our community. I?’d urge you to check my facts, but if they are correct, I sure hope that there?’s a flood of letters on this subject?…
