Not that I expect this posting to remain long, as it will get pushed down a few pages by our most infamous poster and his alter-egos, but here goes.
The bottom line in this election for all offices is simple. What have the candidates done to support their campaign promises? Let me repeat ?– what have they done? I am not asking what they said or are saying now. What actions have they taken to support their current talk? When is the last time, outside this election that you read their comments in our local media? When is the last time you took a look at the minutes of Council, Trustee or School Board meetings and read their comments made that support what they say now?
Agree or disagree with the form and format of grass-root committees, petition drives, etc., when have you heard about positive action being taken by the candidates? When you read the candidates?’ qualifications statements, are you impressed? Exactly what part of the qualifications they highlight demonstrate action towards supporting their claims?
All candidates now believe what only some always believed that growth is the issue for this election. Can all candidates support their rhetoric by documenting their actions towards controlling growth? Can all candidates prove they have been actively involved in stepping up to the podium and demanding that the governing entities slow growth? Can all candidates show us how many times they approached entities demanding they at least take a public stance on controlled growth?
The answer is no. All have not and cannot show us. There are only a few candidates that have a proven record of acting on controlling growth and not just jumping on the bandwagon and talking about it.
Think about that when you are reading the vapid comments written in this forum. Even now, our most infamous poster and his alter-egos are not documenting the accomplishments of the candidates they support. Instead they resort to the attempted defamation of the candidates who can prove they walk the walk. And a quick note to those candidates being supported by that infamous poster, please don?’t forget the past and be doomed to repeat it. Those supported by this poster and his alter-egos have had very troublesome results if they were elected and even when they were not. I don?’t want to use the phrase ?“political kiss of death?”, but you might get my drift. Candidates, try and remember that, like your strategic sign placement, strategic support by the types of campaign boosters polluting this forum can often backfire. There are those voters who will not vote for a particular candidate, not because they think they?’re not the best choice. They will not vote for a candidate simply because of the type of support they are receiving by long time infamous posters and his alter-egos. They feel that if you are not publicly disassociated with them, you must be in agreement with all they are saying and how they say it and that they represent you. How often has our choices for offices in the State and Federal level been us choosing the lesser of two evils instead of being offered the best candidates?
Will the choices you make next Tuesday be based on fact or fiction? The stakes are high.

City up to same old lies -- read
So desperate they keep trying to fight the citizen mandated changes that are coming.
But even Lou needs a friend or two and his dog can't write a letter for him..
To the Editor:
As property values increase, both commercial and residential developments generate more property tax revenue for our community and schools. This is good for the schools.
Commercial development increases the amount of city income that is collected. The 1 percent of city income tax funds the city and its operating budget.
Pickerington Local School District also collects an additional 1 percent income tax that goes solely to the schools. However, only residential development, not commercial development, is subject to this income tax that goes to fund schools.
There is a need to balance commercial and residential development so that both the school system and the city prosper from the different taxing mechanisms.
I congratulate Mayor Lou Postage's efforts to promote balanced and responsible growth in the regard.

To the Editor:
As senior citizens and longtime residents of Pickerington, we have witnessed first hand the bickering that has come to characterize our city. While we got by in the past using confrontation as a means of doing business, we will not prosper unless we change.
Once, we were a rural community isolated from other communities in the area. Now we are linked by the common problems of increased traffic, growing student population and school funding, to name a few.
Our problems go beyond political boundary lines. We must put aside petty differences, stop the accusations and name calling, and work together to find collective solutions to our problems.
We applaud Lou Postage for advocating a regional approach to the issues we face and working to calm things down and heal our community.
We believe that this is the only way to move forward. We support Lou Postage for mayor.

Are you sure?
Are you sure Mr. Washington wasn't actually talking about Lou when refering to the name-calling and bickering of the past? Ole' Lou has been the point man in pointing fingers at the township and trying to say it's their fault for everything.
What a joke. These letters however will do little to sway anyone though. Same boring lies.

How Come?
How come the City's Public Information Director doesn't vary his writing style a little when he writes these up for people to sign???
I loved his Buscilla letter that was a full page in the paper the best
