Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

Chris Smith Rep. wannabe

Posted in: PATA
I was shown a campaign brochure from Chris Smith yesterday. Young Mr. Smith says, ?“My morals are not for sale.?” He also says, ?“I also will not accept any donations to my campaign from homebuilders because of the negative perception that it creates.?”

This boy is either dumber than a stump or lying threw his teeth. On the very same day the Times-Sun reports that young Mr. Smith accepted a $500 donation from the Pickerington area Republican Club and their endorsement. Mr. Smith also indicates he was endorsed by the Pickerington Area republican Club on his campaign brochure. The president of that club is none other than Craig Maxey.

First lets look a the moral people Chris Smith is hanging out with. The Pickerington Area Republican club has had members such as Gary DeMastry who is now serving time in prison. They also enjoyed the membership and they promoted Judge Don McAulliffe who is also in jail awaiting trial. However Mr. Smith failed to mention either of these members in his campaign brochure.

What is absent from Mr. Smith?’s campaign brochure is the other obvious members left off of his endorsement list. Members of that club include, Brian Fox, past president, Craig Maxey current president, Doug Parker past president and of course Daryl.

Mr. Smith did accept $500 from the Pickerington Area Republican Club and who is the member that laundered his donation through the club? The guessing starts now. Was it A. Daryl or B. was it Lee Gray? Or maybe it was another builder? They will need to report these donations to the Board of Elections and I am sure that will show up here on this web site soon.

The press just reported what the candidates received not how the money was laundered.

So why didn?’t Mr. Smith seek or receive the endorsements of the other members of the Pickerington Area Republican Club. Clearly they are impressive people that are currently holding elective offices in our city. After all Chris Smith spoke favorable of Craig Maxey when he was first voted off of council in 2001 and then with the John Washington resignation Maxey was re-appointed to council. It early 2002 Chris Smith stood before council and urged them to re-appoint Craig Maxey back on council. I believe he even said something along the line that Craig Maxey had a good character. It seems Young Mr. Smith doesn?’t know ?“Good Character?” when he sees it. And yes Character does count.

Mr. Smith tells us his morals aren?’t for sale but then accepts a club?’s endorsement lead by an elected official that won?’t endorse him. He wants you to vote for a ?“Fellow Republican?”. Clearly he is ashamed of the Republicans he associates with and he doesn?’t feel comfortable in placing their names on his campaign materials.

CHRIS SMITH WANTS TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT HE IS LIKE THE MEMBERS OF THE NW CLUB. HE IS EVEN COPING THEIR CAMPAIGN BROCHURES ALMOST WORD FOR WORD.

Young Mr. Smith is a lair and a NW club wannabe. He has already sold his morals before he ever got into this race. If you look closely at his campaign photo you can see the faint lines attached to his mouth that surely Lee Gray is controlling.

Copying brochures isn't the only thing. I think he's even fooling some of the residents in believing he's in line with the ''Gang of Four''. I saw his sign in a yard that also had Shaver and Hackworth signs.
