Let me give you the history. Two years ago a charter group of 36 people got together from the City and the Township to discuss the current issues in our common area. We found that our concerns centered around three main areas, ethical government, quality education and managed growth. Few of us knew each other prior but share a common ethos. We have grown into the Republican Club of Northwest Fairfield County. At that time David Shaver began in council, it was clear that we needed to make more change. We naively thought that placing David on Council would begin the process. Continued

. Boy were we wrong. After Craig lost his election to council, We tried to stop Craig Maxey from being reappointed. Postage as President Protem at the time said if you don't like something here vote the person out, we did, but he reappointed the goof. We did not suceed because they were in the majority. Maxey was put back in his seat. We watched as David Shaver was the lone vote against this group. We watched as his character and life was questioned. We decided to take the opportunity to try to affect change at the Republican County Club level by electing Central Committee members. We won over 14 seats. Brian Fox nor Craig Maxey won, however in an overthrow, was apppointed to be the Chairman of the County Republican Party. You see they have raped and pillage our area and they are now heading to Lancaster and Baltimore. Watch out. Follow Darryl Berry and Lee Gray and you will see where the next developments will be. Brian does not recognize our club, nor the historical Lincoln Club. We initiated referendums after referendums demanding that the councilmen respond to the will of the people, and they would not send them down to the board of elections or found minor picky mistakes on the petitiion, like dotting an i or capping a T. When even Hughes was too much for the gang and he was ousted, we put forth a very brave Heidi Riggs. continued

We all think that Lou and the others appointed Heidi because they knew there would be a successful recall effort if not. Two years ago these elections seemed so far away and nearly impossible. Now, we have David Shaver to run for Mayor and Heidi Riggs, Ted Hackworth and Brian Wiesniewski to bring the majority to the council for managed growth, quality education and ethical government. We have sent forward Lisa Reade, Jim Brink, Gary Weitlich and David Trimmer. All of these candidates were endorsed by the Club and by the local papers. Although I think that Diane Shankland's passion for the community is without dispute, the Club did not endorse her. This does not mean that she cannot be of value. She sure can. She still attends and is a member of the club. This just is not her time. We need individuals at this time that are electable. Honestly, she is not right now. They have already sent forward candidates to split the vote from David Shaver. Our goal is to achieve a majority in the council and shut down some of the destructive rulings that have occurred. These are courageous times and it requires a real grass roots successful venture to win. To win our community back. Does that help?
