I want to let the Pickerington Area citizens know that the OHIO EPA will hold one last hearing for the final ''Permit to install'' for the expansion of the Pickerington Sewer plant.

The current City Government wants to triple the size of the current plant. It will bury the city in debt and the school district in students. This will mean 6000 new homes just to pay for this expansion.

Please attend the hearing at 7 PM on Wednesday November 5th at the Pickerington City Hall. Please let the Ohio EPA know you would like them to delay this decision.

Please help give this new city government that will be elected on November 4th a chance.

The time of the meeting is 6:30 according to the letter from the Ohio EPA.

Administrative or Legislative?


I realize that there may be some folks out there who do not really want to answer these questions, but I have got to ask.

Question: Can the ordinance to allow the city manager to enter into a contract for the work for sewer expansion be challenged by referendum? Is this a merely ''administrative'' matter? It would appear to be more legislative seeing how an official local government contract is involved, but you never know.

Also, if the ''gang of four'' win and the current ''gangsters'' continue with the sewer expansion contract, is there any way to have a ''stop work'' initiated? In other words, is there language in the current RFP to exercize an immediate ''stop work'', like say, Jan. 02, 2003 and payment for any work accomplished including reasonable profit for the contractor. Oh yeah I forgot, Joyce Bushman is negotiating this contract and city council is about to have the third reading of the ordinance authorizing her to enter into this contract without a pricetag. Hmmm. Better get a collection for attorney's fees going after election day...
