It certainly is interesting that our infamous and frequent poster here on this site has always accused the PATA people of being a secret group and that they were a Political Action Committee.
It now appears that the very group that MWU lead (The Pickerington North High School Athletic Boosters) is nothing more that a political action committee themselves.
Clearly they are trying to control who is elected not only in the city (Postage, Chris Smith, Julie Smith and Jack Bowman) but also in the school district to the school board (Mike Smith, Marcy Raymond and Larry Sigman). This has worked for years here in Pickerington, because they had formed a coalition of different organizations that conspired together to make this happen.
Obviously the Pickerington Athletic Booster clubs have supported Lou Postage and his failed policies for years now. Like Lou said, ?“this current situation didn?’t happen over night?”. Even on his campaign literature he touts being as a ?“Three times past President of the Pickerington Athletic Boosters?”. He was also the past president of the PYAA. Some refer to this club as the ?“Sport?’s Nazis?”.
Clearly the Pickerington Chamber of Commerce has conspired over the years with Lou and his handlers. You can regularly see that Joyce Bushman uses and continues to use the PACC as a political issue group that promotes only her ideas. The local chamber is a radical group that cares very little about promoting local business and more about that special treatment they provide for their selected (Platinum) members mostly from the Building Industry. A great example of this was how Lou Postage controlled how the City Council candidates would be presented to the public by the Chamber. They had a closed ?“luncheon?” only members of the Chamber and some county elected people showed up. Clearly if the voting public had heard what little the Lee Gray candidates had to say on the most important issues of Pickerington they would have been stunned. The fact is that the PACC conspired with Lou Postage and Lee Gray to allow their candidates (Chris Smith, Julie Smith and Jack Bowman) to talk behind closed doors then once they didn?’t have to face the public anymore they copied the ideas of Republican Club of Northwest Fairfield County endorsed candidates (Shaver, Riggs, Hackworth, & Wisniewski) and now they want to be just like them, afraid to put in their own campaign literature who truly supports them.
For years now Brian Fox has abused the good name of Lions clubs of this county. He has used his good will and this service organization?’s fine reputation nationally for partisan political purposes.
The PACC then showcased the School Board candidates and here again the athletic boosters candidates said very little except that they were boosters. Clearly Marcy Raymond talked a lot but presented no real substance in her comments. Mike Smith tried to match wits with Jim Brink but apparent came to the luncheon unarmed. Substance wise Jim Brink blew Larry Sigman off the stage. While Lisa Reade laid out her plans the others laid out fluff.
Maybe a true service organization should sponsor a actual debate in the future for candidates so that they must present themselves to the public. Maybe that should be a future roll for PATA.
