Vote 4 Change

Posted in: PATA
I believe that the citizens of our fair community voted for what they wanted on November 4th.

We now have a Mayor & City Council Majority & a School Board Majority that have the same agenda - what's the best for the community. And an open door for it's citizen's.

Has democracy finally prevailed? What I know is there is hope on the horizon. The newly elected, that I have had the chance to speak with, believe that community input is important and sound like parents with the same values that I have. They have encouraged me to continue contact in the case I think they are wrong or want to voice a differing opinion. They don't think they have all the answers & they want to listen.

I don't think that one person could solve all of the issues that face Pickerington & thought it was great that they didn't either. They credited change to one person at a time - meaning I can make a difference. I plan on becoming more active at least in terms of attendance of Township and School Board meetings - and am optimistic as to what I will see. Hopefully that will carry over to the City as well.

Our Community may be ill but we have found the proper dressing & a full recovery is predicted!

It will take time - all good things do.

It's a new day

The first battle of a war is over. We won that. The second battle is up coming, the fight with the BIA. First of all, most of the builders who have sued (bar Schottenstein) are smaller local or regional builders who sold very few houses in the past several years. It will be hard to prove that they actually lost something. No law suit will get people to buy their poorly made houses.
I am optomistic that the builders will see what fools they are and move on. This is our community. If a builder could come in and force their houses on a community, then why have an administration, indeed why have zoning or building permits. The entire purpose of a local, state or national government is to administer laws, policies and ordinances that have been passed by community. They cannot force their way into this community. I would suggest that if they do they will feel the rath of the community and those houses will be black balled. Peaceful protest. We can vote with our dollars now. In the months and years to come more and more people will need to attend the city council meetings, participate and offer suggestions. For the first time in two decades you will actually be heard. Don't be afraid to speak, they are listening.
