Celebrate now, for the REAL fight will be to keep current officials from doing more irreversible, and WORSE damage during the next 7.5 weeks. EVERYTHING will be by emergency, boards and committees will be re-appointed and spies will be set up everywhere, and contracts for life renewed. No way will they give up the cash cow that easy. C'mon regular city employees, NOW you can narc them out. SERB has your back...give them up!

Sewer expansion hearing

Tomorrow night the OEPA will have a public hearing to expand the sewer plant to 3.5 million gallons per day. The hearing is at 6:30 pm at city hall. If this sewer expansion is approved it will take approximately 4000 new homes to pay off the loan to expand the plant. OR a huge increase in your utility bill if the homes are not built. Nerly all of the new proposed service area is slated for the development of single family homes, only a small part of the area on either side of SR 256 is slated for commercial development in this service area. Of course the bit has zoned to allow a necklace of homes around the 500 foot wide commercial area they have allowed along SR256.

The current city adminstration has a plan to get this permit to install, apply for the loan and award the bids to construct the plant all before January 1, 2003. IF this happens your new governement will be saddled with this 13 million dollar debt...how will they pay for this?

PLEASE attend the hearing and speak and ask the OEPA to not give this permit nor loan the money to build the plant expansion until the new government can determine if in fact this is what the community wants.
