Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

Response to GA & SA

Posted in: PATA

It is not surprising to see that a few remain in Pickerington and the area that continue to exhibit a focused, destructive, and personally abusive attacking mode to any individual that chooses to speak up.

You?’re not unique, however it became apparent over the years that you and your dwindling kind have little of value to add to how a community discusses it?’s issues and challenges and moves forward to address those challenges.

I see in your response to my information about the last litigation challenges from the developers that ?“GO AWAY& STAY AWAY?” is stuck in that non-productive mode and has chosen to ?“vent?” against me in the ?“oh so typical?” way. Well ?“GO AWAY?” vent away. You see for years I did not discuss all the issues and measures and details that I wanted for two main reasons;

1. My name was synonymous with ALL people involved with PATA and if my opinions were not in line with others in majority and I expressed those opinions as to my opinions they could be easily misconstrued as the organizations position.
2. Like the recent postings of the few remaining ?“Bickerington?” antagonists, I have a spouse and offspring that the zealots of the area felt were also clear fodder to vent their anger against. My move away from those of this mindset has now protected my loved ones and, unlike current residents, they are completely insulated from the types of abuse that have been the calling card of the ?“few?” that have manipulated this town for so long.

Well ?– I?’m no longer the Contact Person of PATA and see absolutely no reason that I should be denied the right to speak my informed opinion.

So ?“GO AWAY?” unless you can cite some unaware amendment to the first section of the Bill of Rights protecting free speech I believe that your points are out of order in a free democracy. I also, as someone said in my defense, am a 2003 tax paying citizen of the area who is about to see some of my taxes used by a state agency for a sewer expansion project against my wishes, judgement, and the benefit of the neighbors that I care about.

Now ?“GO AWAY?” please enlighten all of us of the following:

Is the Judge hearing the developers case against the changes that the citizens of Pickerington have voted into zoning law a Pickerington (or even a Pickerington) area resident?

Is this the same Judge that ruled on any decisions about the failed attempt at the Statewide Referendum against the Annexation Reform Bill known as Senate Bill 5 as attorney Don McTigue fought (with Pickerington area taxpayer dollars) to promote that Referendum ---- and keep annexing away lands ---- EVEN THOUGH that Referendum effort was flawed through administrative errors that failed to follow the state constitution?

Why do you (?“GO AWAY?”) defend the supposed rights of developers such as Bill Fannin, Doug Borra, John Bain against the voted rights of your neighbors?

What value do you (?“GO AWAY?”) see in the filling of the Pickerington Local School District with the number of homes and at the rates that these Developers and Builders promote?

Who do you propose stand up to the disastrous results of a developer driven community?

The time is ticking away, the case is already in court, the filings (hearings) but mostly filings are at hand. The Ohio EPA is champing at the bite to give the sewer plant expansion their seal of approval and seal this community into the developers hands for endless houses.

It?’s time for action my dear ?“GO AWAY?” ?– what do you say?

Change of Venue?

Has the city of Pickerington filed for a change of venue to Fairfield County, where judges better understand the issues affecting Pickerington and the entire school district? I don't think that just because the builders filed first that it gives them 100% say in where the lawsuit will be heard. Perhaps this is a job for David Shaver and his new Law Director. This lawsuit could drag on for years - the last lawsuit over a moratorium (Lake Tahoe) went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The land owners lost, as they court held that a temporary (36 month) moratorium to protect the environment did not constitute a ''taking'' of private property.

And as far as the builders' position that they won't be able to receive the zoning promised them in the pre-annexation agreements, CONTRACT ZONING IS ILLEGAL IN OHIO. Perhaps once Joyce Bushman is out of office, someone should take a look at all those pre-annexation agreements and send that woman to jail. Ethics in office are important. It's too bad she hasn't demonstrated any.
Is bob really gone?

Wow in just two days we have to local residents calling for Joyce Bushman to either go to jail or resign. Maybe Joyce had it good with Bob Harding. The more I read on this web site in recent days seems the residents are not robots controlled by Bob Harding. Or should I say Mr. Hardy as the now former Mayor (Postage) affectionately referred to him.

Bob, We hope you enjoy your new life on the left coast. I think you can rest assured that there is still ample fire in the belly of the locals here in Pickerington.
