Sorry the website crashed during the Ethical NW Republican thread below. It was getting interesting. At least ''Grow Up'' finally was ''Shut Up''. So O'Brien and Smith volunteered at the Taste of Pickerington? Well, they also volunteered at the Tiger's game last night. Pouring down rain and cold? Yep, but here they were soaked to the bone and helping. Campaign tee shirts on but no campaigning going on. Just helping the Central athletics. Tory Kramer was also there volunteering. It looked like their spouses and kids were there too. Great job people!

I have got to tell you, this was the most good news I got in a long time. You now see that the team of Shaver, Hackworth, Wisniewski and Riggs have delivered on every campaign promise they made. You now see that O'Brien had delivered on his promise to support the team after he was appointed.

You now see the direction the city is headed under their leadership. Get out to vote on November 8. Obviously the candidates Hammond, Kramer and Smith have the support of the people that have delivered the goods to date. Obviously we can still go further with this team and the additions we need.

Where do you see the team of Fix, Wright and Sabatino in all this? You see them cauitoning about this and cautioning about that. Caution your heads off boys - you haven't had a hand in the progress this city made in spite of you. Fix, you say you have your own growth management plans. Are they better than what the consultant delivered and the council passed the first reading on? You have your own ideas for this and that. Having your own ideas is great but save them for your retail career and your questionable politics. Save us from your inanity.

Wright and Sabby - what can I say? You're simply a part of the past. You are not part of the future. Go on home boys and lock the doors.

Free endorsements

I am sorry but I am having keeping score here. There are four open council seats for the Pickerington City Council. There are seven candidates for these four seats. Of these seven candidates five are registered Republicans and two are non-partisan.

I was told yesterday that the NW club which is a partisan political group has endorsed the two non-partisan candidates and the one registered Republican thus ignoring the four remaining Republican candidates.

I don't know about anyone else but that is very confusing. Is the NW club a partisan political club or not? Who will they campaign for in next spring's primary? Why are they even involved with a local non-partisan political race? Did they look at or even inform all of the candidates that they were going to open endorse anyone that came to them and was still breathing?

What does this say about the credibility of this club and its endorsement process? As a Republican, who will they endorse after this? Will they go for say Ted Strickland?

I think they have lost their way.

Not only lost their way...BUT...

Not only have they lost their way, they lost their ethical compass upon which they were founded. Not only did they endorse non-Republicans, but they failed to endorse or even try to contact some Republicans and members of their very own little club. Not only did they firmly state more than a month ago that their constitution and bylaws prohibited them from endorsing non-Republicans, they then reinterpreted their rules to not only endorse non-Republicans but bold-face lie to Republicans who would have sought their endorsement had this reinterpretation occurred a month or so ago. Not only did they endorse non-Republicans who are mot members of their little club, they actually endorsed a member of their little club who is not even a Republican.

My head is spinning here....

Not only did their most recent past president set up the endorsement panel and hand pick every member to man it who would see things his way, his very own campaign treasurer did not recuse himself from participating. Not only did this little club not endorse founding members, or those founding members had the sense to stay away from this tainted process, this little club refused to support those founding members BEFORE the sham endorsements occurred. They were committed to a little man from their little club only and that was that. Not only did I, and others question these purely political tactics, but this little club's chief strategist is a lifelong DEMOCRAT.

Not only does an endorsed member of this little club turn around and endorse a member of this little club that was NOT endorsed BY this little club, he also endorses Bill Wright! Sort of like endorsing Bush and Kerry. In other words, you are a buffoon and a politician. You don?’t even understand who is on whose side here. You have been in office too long and it is time for you to be pout out to pasture. Then you can get your farm rezoned and become a millionaire.

Not only, not only, not only..... Need I go on?

No, I needn't. Certainly you get the picture. When founding members wouldn't shut up and play ball, they were ostracized by the people who were mostly Johnny-Come-Latelies to the little club. Newer factions shafted the founding members.

What does the endorsement of this little club mean to anyone? Not a damn thing. It was once a great club made up of great people. Now it is a little club made up of little people and led by little people. Small people with small minds. Is this where our county party is headed? Are they weak and followers rather than leaders.

I have been a township resident for over 20 years and associated with many of this club?’s members since they originated. Quite frankly, they have disappointed me greatly. I only wish, just for this election, that I was a city resident so I could make my disappointment known at the polls. All I can offer is that when you get campaign literature from this little club with their endorsements, take it to the polls with you and vote for everyone NOT on their list.

One last thing and I?’ll shut up and go about my business ?– a founding member of this little club was screwed over by them tremendously. To that person - When are you going to come out and tell everyone what they did to you? When are you going to tell us why you have remained silent? When are you going to take that knife out of your back and give it back to them?

In the mean time ?– GO STRICKLAND!!

I will be voting for Strickland unless John Kasich enters the race. The same Republican machinery that brought you the outstanding Taft adminstration is posturing all of the current R candidates for the next gov election. I have received three poll calls asking who I favor in the gov race, I am a registered R I told them I would vote for Stickland in the past few days...
